Jolida JD-9 Upgrade If it works leave it alone! Buy a Schiit Mani 2 for $160 - a better phono stage!
What specs to look for in 25' HDMI cable If a HDMI cable works it is fine! No need to worry if another brand is "better" because all HDMI cables pass digital data the same way.
What does the "high gain" option refer to when buying preamp tubes "High Gain" is just another way for Tube Depot to extract another $2 from a buyer!
What was the first power cable that you noticed a difference in the sound? I see that the power cord cultists are out in force! Go ahead and spend hundreds on a meter or two of wire if it makes you happy!
Looking for a great phono pre-amp in the $1000 or less range @jl35 Thank you! Diminishing returns set in quickly for phono stages! Money would be better spent on a cartridge upgrade! The OP should consider the Hana SL for ~ $700. That and the Mani would keep the cost ~ $1K.
Looking for a great phono pre-amp in the $1000 or less range Here's the best value ever in phono stages: Schiit Mani 2 for $160. No need to spend $1000!
Jeff Rowland Aeries DAC comparison to current DACs I expect it will sound the same as all DAC's - transparent to the source and an inaudible noise floor.
Anyone has a reference system where amplification is SS ? Different strokes for different folks!
Help! Vinyl Pressing Defects? Did the retailers give you the option of returns? If yes, I would do that. If no, then you are stuck with them.
Genesis Advanced Technologies' New Speakers and Statement Phono Cart. at CAF 2023! $8K and $13.5K speakers are far from affordable by the middle class. I see 90% profit in that $18K moving coil cartridge.
Phono Stage, Tonearm, Cartridge Question - Which is the most important? The cartridge, tone arm and phono stage in that order.
The History of Recorded Music: The Re-emergence of the vinyl Record "...turn of the 19th century ..." LOL! Thomas Edison invented the gramophone in 1877. So you are off by 77 years!
A tale of two sides Transistor gear can run 24/7 unless it is a hot-as-an-oven class A amp! Those should be turned off when not in use.
Have you asked yourself this question? I agree with @mijostyn that digital is way more affordable to get started with: a $70 Wiim streamer, $90 DAC and a Tidal/Qobuz subscription will sound fine! |
