Wilson Audio Sabrina X Reviewed ! WOW I am a big fan of wilson but think they are way over priced. Their used prices are more inline with their sound quality imo. I really enjoy the coloration of wilson. A little heavy on the bass, forward mids etc but state of the art it is not imo. ...
Wilson Audio Sabrina X Reviewed ! WOW Calvinsndhobbes, those monitor audios measure pretty good but I have never heard them. Anyway the differences I hear between good affordable speakers and good expensive speakers can be subtle if both are well engineered (this is the key). The monit...
Wilson Audio Sabrina X Reviewed ! WOW The Sabrina has a wicked impedance curved and is inefficient. Otherwise a nice speaker. Need big power for sure.
How many of us are truly diversified I own both class d and class AB and at first changed them out. Now the class d is used for my surrounds of my home theater.
Speaker in car boot on hot day Cross-link rubbers found in speakers melt at a very high temperature. If it is hot enough to melt your dashboard you need to worry. Otherwise there is no issue. Now the battery that is a different story. Heat can and will kill lithium batteries.
Class D amps seem poised to take over. Then what? Hmm I have owned Class D, Class A, Class AB and there is zero chance I will ever use classe d in my main rig again. Class-D makes the music sound quantized with unnatural edges to the music. Good video unrelated on how quantization has messed up m...
Help - Opinions - Amp for Sonas Faber Olympica III Speakers My local shop had had the Olympica 3 on a Parasound, Classe and McIntosh. They all sounded good. I don’t think it is a picky speaker. I like the Classe the best by a bit but that setup (latest abs greatest) was twice the price of the speakers.
Klipsch Cornwall IV I have heard both the Forte and Cornwall. The Forte is a tricky one as it feels like it needs more space than the Cornwall, maybe due to the passive radiator. So for me other than price I would take the Cornwall and if you can afford $4500 you pro...
Better than Usher Dancer Mini-X DMD? I have never heard the Usher so can’t really help. I know you said new but with monitors picking them up or shipping them is much easier. I would look at used Focal Sopra 1s (a few pairs on here). I think they are the monitor to beat at the momen...
If you own quality monitor speakers you want to read this new review alanhuth is correct. Don’t believe anything unless there is a direct comparison. I could describe Apple air pods and good detail, excellent soundstage and imaging. Good bass but but a little warm and lacking depth. Easy to setup and great build qu...
McIntosh - is it that great? ejr1953,nice system there. I use a MC462 (with two JL e112 subs) on a pair of Thiels and I imagine the Sopra 2 is a perfect match. I am looking to pick up a pair of used Sopra 2s or Revel 228be/328be sometime this year. The revels match well with ...
Using a sub with no sub out on my amp You can also just run leads from the speaker to the sub. It won’t effect your sound unless you are a bat with super hearing. Not all subs take this type of connection. Rel is a brand that does.
Poor quality control crooked driver Where did you get them? If it bothers you return them get another set.
Thoughts on Active/Passive Speakers? Looking for pros and cons. Only con of active is you can’t tune the sound with different amps. All other things being equal are better IMO.
I heard the Box Not directed at anyone, The box sounds different than one would think. When I hear the box the sound stage collapses. Not some boxy sound. I think port noise is sometimes confused with the box flexing and making noise. |
