Wilson Sasha 2 or Alexia for small room 10' x 17'?
Good to hear. You will like the Sasha. I would like to hear about how the Sopra compared. I always liked the Focal 1038be but never pulled the trigger and the Sopra like a nice evolution.
Wilson Sasha 2 or Alexia for small room 10' x 17'?
I learned a long time ago that "better" engieenring does not always translate to better sound.  When one aspect is over engineered (stiffness, lightness) other important aspects (damping) sometimes get over looked IMO. I have not heard the new Par...
Wilson Sasha 2 or Alexia for small room 10' x 17'?
I have heard both back to back and also heard the sabrina the same day (I also thought the Sabrina was average) I would not spend the extra on the Alexia. I have heard the Sasha full much larger rooms than yours. Save your money.
JL e110 sub
Yes you just need to turn the cross over on. There is no low pass filter only a crossover. If you don't want to use it as a crossover just use the line in with no line out and it will work the same as a filter but have an adjustable slope. I have ...
room space
There is no point is buying a "smaller" speaker. It is about how low the speaker plays. That is the sad truth of it. A smaller driver just moves more than a larger one and will have more distortion (generally) than the larger one at the same volum...
Wilson Audio Sophia III Question/Help
I had a very similar issue when I went from B&W to Thiel speakers. The vocals in the center image always seemed soft. In the end I never fixed it and came to the conclusion that it is just that the Thiels have a wider dispersion of the mids th...
B&W 802S Versus 803d3 with subwoofer
I have demoed both these speakers in the same room and own two subs in my main system (not b&w). The 802s would be an easy choice for me. Small speakers and subs don't mix for me. But large speakers and subs are awesome. Matching the power ban...
Klipsch subwoofers...Any good?
I have heard the 10". Not sure what model but it was from the reference line. It was pretty average. I think I heard some box noise and or port noise. They were not even close to my JL E112 subs.
Dual subs and room size
Subs are good for a small room as you can adjust the bass. I had 2 12" JLs in a 12x17' room and it was great. I have the same system in a 25'x26' room now and it totally sucks.
Adding a 2nd Sub to a 2 Channel System
I run 2 JL E112 using their crossover between my preamp and amp. With that said one sub sounds terable compared to two. The room just does not balance out and my nodes were crazy. With two it sounds great. One of my subs was at the dealer for cros...
Best Preamp - NO preamp... (?)
I got rid of my preamp years ago (DAC straight to power amp) and never looked back.
Active studio monitors anyone?
"It is clear that advocates of active speakers have no valid audiophile argument"Some active monitors (focal sm9) have the divers directly coupled to the amps and the crossover is before the amps. This has many advantages that I am too lazy to rig...
Active studio monitors anyone?
Active speakers have a ton of advantages.Take a look at the Focal SM9, They use A/AB amps and have a built in EQ that can be by passed. They basically have modified utopia and electra drivers in them. They are $7500ish and crazy cheap when compare...
Can headphones ever be as good as high end stereo?
Keep the stereo you would miss it but add some headphones. Good headphones can hang with the best stereos in resolution, tone, dynamic range etc (I do mean the best) but you will lose all of the soundstage. A another option to the stax would be th...
