B&W New Diamond Series? " I just wish my 804 was a little brighter..."Seriously??!!Yes my thoughts too. Already too bright at the 3k range and 8k imo. But I have not owned B&W in a long time. I just admire them from a distance as I love the look and the tech but not ...
Anybody want to talk about the JBL studio 590? Yep audio deal of the century when JBL blows them out on sale at $900 a pair. Every 3-6 months they are on sale straight from JBL. They have a 30 or 60 day free home trial too. The 590 are huge though but I like big speakers. When my non audiophil...

Kef Blade two mixed use I use my speakers in dedicated media room so they are used for movies and games too. I have never once noticed them sounded harsh or poor on none audiophile stuff. Any good speaker should be a non issue. All of the speakers listed are pretty flat...
Anyone go from Sonus Faber Sonetto III to Olympica Nova II? I would guess you will not lose bass. The drivers in the Olympica are probably a lot better. The Driver motor has a lot to do with bass output as does the box size.
Best Integrated Amp for Thiel CS 2.4 Speakers I own a pair of Thiel 2.4s. I don’t think they need as much power as stated above but I run them currently on 450 watts lol. But really they don’t. I have run them on a few different amps (McIntosh MC462 at the moment) and they were fine off 100 w...
McIntosh MA252 owners, one SMALL problem I cut a very very small piece of electrical tape and put it over the light on my MC462. Problem solved. You can’t see the tape from just a few feet away. Kind of forgot it was there.
Vivid Audio Speakers The unnatural voices of the Kaya prof mentions above (I have never heard vivid) probably has a lot more to do with the low side firing woofers with a high crossover point combined with the subtle rise in frequency response starting at 2k, just a g...
Bass sensation like a loud car system in home? Ok, silent bass. Checkout this video. https://youtu.be/PNjuDewrHoY
Bass sensation like a loud car system in home? You really just need big subs. The air volume of a car is very small and they use 12” subs or more so the ratio is crazy compared to a room. There are a number of mechanical bass shaper devices you hook up to an amp and you could bolt them to you...

Rotel RA-1592 MK II or something else to deliver around 200W to B&W towers around $3000? Well I have own some of the equipment you are looking at. I owned a B&W 703s and a Rotel 1072 amp. I also owned a Peach Tree Deco, and wyred4sound equipment… and McIntosh. My comments are all very general as it has been a long time and my syst...
Very new to high end audio - Recomendations I personally agree with artemus_5 and I think passive speakers with an integrated amp is the way to get started. JBL 580s and 590s are good starter speakers. Every 3-6 month JBL sells them off their sight at 50% off or more. They are a screaming d... |
