Warm, Lush Laid-Back Smaller Floor Standers? What is your budget? Also have you thought about trying a computer as a source and just using some EQ? Might be worth a try if you have a laptop around. I had similar issues with all the speakers I owned. Running two subs highpassed helped a ...
Moving on from Parasound P5 Dac or Preamp The benchmark is fine. It is more of a clean clear sound than expansive soundstage type of DAC. It has noticeably strong bass impact. I would say this is entry level highend… they have a 30 day trial so no risk. I like bench mark better than Wyre...
Subwoofer Choice Bound4h. it does not look like the Michi will support the CR-1 crossover. You would need an amp input. Does the michi have bass management built in? Looks like it has a sub out.
Power cord - 5 ft vs 10 ft ? Currently I am running a 25’ exertion cord to my subs from the back of the room because of a weird ground loop issue I can’t shake. I guess that puts me in the power cords don’t matter camp lol.
Rell or JL subwoofer? Mariobeniteziv, what do you not like about the F112? Sound wise I think they are pretty solid.
We should reject hard-to-drive speakers more often While I don’t disagree but people want small speakers and deep bass so that in turn makes them hard to drive. They often wire multiple bass drivers in parallel which drops the impedance too I have owned 86db speakers and 91db speakers and don’...
Older Revel vs Newer Magicos Trust your own ears. I have heard the Salon 2 many times but never the Studio 2. Keep in mind the “2” is much better than the original. Anyway I think the Salon 2 is without flaw. Spending major money can get you more resolution through better p...
JL Audio CR-1 Crossover Ozzy, good to hear… or not to hear lol. Not sure if I would use the damping or not of the CR-1 or not. The E112 subs have a stripped down version of what the CR-1 does. I am trying to get a handle on how much cleaner it is. The issue with pass...
JL Audio CR-1 Crossover Question for the CR-1 owners. Do you notice any added hiss when using it? I have been using the internal highpass crossover in my JL E112 subs and while they seem very transparent I get some added hiss to my system (I am assuming a high gain outpu...
Made the move: Focal Maestro 3 to Focal Maestro EVO Nice, enjoy.
Subwoofer Choice SVS make a cable for high level inputs. They are banana plug on one end and that is what plugs into the sub. Not sure which models do and don’t support it but some do for sure so just check. they have a 45 day trial too. Nothing to lose.
Subwoofer Choice Highend64 yes agreed, adding a crossover could possibly be heard. I can only speak of the JL and my system (Mcintosh Revel) I can’t hear a change at all. If you have a very highend system maybe it would be different. The down side is good ana...
Subwoofer Choice 2 always two with out question. You will not need that much output for music. My JLs run at about 10-o-clock on the dial with 90db speakers. How do you plan to connect them? that is far more important than what sub you choose. Low passing th...
Finally...Pictures! Knotscott, you should be able to see pictures. They are in his system page not in the thread. Click on his name to see the page.
Finally...Pictures! Looks like a nice place, nice equipment. funny thing about pulling out off the back wall. the speakers bass will cancel a bit from 39” to 7.2’… so it will alway cancel at some frequency once you add wall, floor, ceiling bounce. Anyway from a pure ... |
