Denon DL-103 vs. DL-160? I'm curious, if one removes the 103 from the stock body and puts it into a different body, how does that affect the formula?Do you simply weigh the difference of the two bodies and adjust?
Cartridge & Headshell for SL1210 M5G $399 Tvad, thank you for that tip, I will double check my level settings.
Cartridge & Headshell for SL1210 M5G $399 I started out with the stock Technics SL1210MG5's headshell. Why not, it comes with your table right? Get comfortable with the stock unit, then move up to the Sumiko. Johnnyb53 is correct, the azimuth alignment on the Sumiko sure puts that headshe...
Technics sp10 mrk2 or SL-1200mrkII Alex, this is precisely why I went with a new 12xx, KAB Electro-Acoustics has all the necessary modifications to make the 12xx a very good turntable. Now if I were a 'collector' of audio equipment, I would definitely want an SP-10, the cool factor ...
Is the KAB Fluid Damper worth it if... The TD-1200 Tonearm Dampening System is easy to install, the trickiest part is removing the tiny screw on the tonearm of the MG5. I stripped it, so I had to get a Dremel tool to cut a flat screw slot into the stripped phillips screw head in order ...
Vinyl sales up 36% I was in my local BestBuy this weekend in Manhattan, and was very surprised to see a dedicated record display for the new release of Coldplay's Viva La Vida on record! The display was completely empty save 1 copy left. The sign said $9.99, I paid ...
Is the KAB Fluid Damper worth it if... The KAB Electro-Acoustic TD-1200 Tonearm Fluid Damping System is one of the last KAB mods I have left to try. I think the Record Clamp is the only one I'm missing. Is the TD-1200 worth it? With out question. This is a very impressive modification t...
Swapping the MMF 5 for an SL-1210M5G 103, nice move. When you are ready (further on down the road) try putting a wood body on the 103. :)
turntables for dartzeel phono preamp... Radioheadokplayer,Yes, take small steps and work with what you have. The Technics has been a 'project' for me in incremental steps. When I made the decision to go with the Technics, I wanted a 'platform' in which to learn the details of turntable ...
turntables for dartzeel phono preamp... Sirspeedy,Perhaps I had a lemon. I certainly had problems from the very beginning. Is there a newer version now after the mk4? I went from a mk3 to a mk4 and didn't see any change, nor could I hear any change as well. I guess upgrades are done all...
turntables for dartzeel phono preamp... Did you get a stock or KAB modified one?
Sumiko Headshell on SL1210 Be sure to avoid the finger lift that comes with the Sumiko headshell, it causes unstableness in the headshell due to off balance weight in relationship to the needle and the headshell itself if mounted.
Swapping the MMF 5 for an SL-1210M5G Johnnyb53, do you have the KAB PS-1200 external power supply? If not, you will find that mod will take your 12xx into the stratosphere.I just got word that my tonearm dampener is shipping now, so hopefully I will have it setup for the weekend.I ca...
Speakers/Symposium Rollerblock JR's. David12, what are your speakers made out of? I suspect they are MDF based? MDF is not a good material to base a speaker or any audio component on. It is used as a low cost material that is very easy to work with and build boxes with, but the sound... |
