Technics SL1200/1210 owners - which mat?
I tried the stock rubber mat upside down, it was a big improvement over right side up. However, the Boston Audio Design Mat1 was always better in an A/B swap with the stock. I even tried the BAD on top of the stock (both right side up, and up side...
Technics SL1200/1210 owners - which mat?
Thanks for the response. I have some more work to do.
In love with my Loricraft
In the end, go with what works for you. There is always something newer, bigger, more pricey, but that doesn't mean anything really. There are always trade offs as well. The Loricraft suits me just fine.
What's a good beginner turntable at $2500+- range?
Just remember that $$$ is no indicator of sound. Go with what your ear tells you, not the price they want you to pay...
What's a good beginner turntable at $2500+- range?
I had a SOTA Cosmos mk3, even upgraded it (paid $900) to have it upgraded to mk4 status. A brand new Cosmos mk4 cannot play a record at a consistent speed when compared to a vintage $300 direct drive Luxman PD-264.The Cosmos Mk4 retails for over $...
Turntable speed measurements for speed accuracy?
I lived with a SOTA Cosmos mk3 for 2 years, then upgraded it to the mk4 status. I could hear the speed UN-stability it was playing with my records. Which is what drew the turntable out into critical listening for me. I could hear the speed change ...
Anyone experienced with Rolf Kelch Ref table?
This table was used at HE-2003 or was it HE-2004 in the Lamm Industries room with the Vitavox corner horns. Very big for sure.

Sota Millenia vs Kuzma Stabi reference vs VPI HRX
Yep, I know, they are in the cottage industry area, and I can certainly understand limited resources. Customer experience aside, the Cosmos mk4 did not play as steady as a Luxman PD-264. But having the vacuum pull down was very cool, and the final...
How hard is it to remove the technics 1210 tonearm
Origin Live makes a tonearm adapter for the Technics 1200/1210.
Sota Millenia vs Kuzma Stabi reference vs VPI HRX
I had a Sota Cosmos mk3. I ordered a custom finish which began to crack after a month of receiving the turntable which was delivered 4 months after the promise date.A year later, the table went back in for warranty service (the defective cabinet w...
Turntable speed measurements for speed accuracy?
It would be nice if review rags would perform speed accuracy tests with every turntable they review. It seems like this is a fundamental specification of performance to actually measure. If a turntable cannot spin a record at a consistent speed, th...
Help with finding ultra-transparent pre-amp
Have a look at Lamm. LL2 or L1 would fit your price requirements.
The Police Live
I suspect there is a new album in the making. That's what they hinted at during their first reunion tour last time. I was able to see them twice at Madison Square Garden, at the beginning and the end of their tour. Both times tho, it was the Police...
Calling Dave Berning ZH-270 owners
I had one for several years, started w/o a preamp and later added 2 different preamps. If I owned one today, I would indeed have a preamp in front of it.I would put a Lamm preamp in front of it, but that is my biased. I first started with a Lamm L...
