Power cord and Interconnects for Cambridge Azur840 for ICs consider the Cardas Golden Cross or Kimber Select all copper interconnect ( 2 models to choose from). The Kimber will help you get where you want to be with more smoothly delivered detail.IMHO Consider the proper footers under the 840C. Tr...
PS Audio: Power Plant Premier. How much .... When I had my entire system into a PPP, it ran hot with the fan running continuously. After buying a PS Audio Duet into which I plugged my amp., the PPP cooled down, the distortion output dropped and the sound soared.sm2727 I'm surprised that you ...
CD/lossless versus iTunes & Amazon downloads Adnan,I suspect you will really notice the limitations of compressed music in comparison to vinyl.
Plz advise on Denon PRA 1500/POA 2400 That should have nothing to do with it.
Mccormack DNA-1 describe the sound characteristics Dvdgreco,What "footers" are you using under your components?
Plz advise on Denon PRA 1500/POA 2400 i would think that the output transistors are on the left side of the amp as that is getting hot. Wherever the output transistors are, there is the heat.
Plz advise on Denon PRA 1500/POA 2400 Unless you go nuts with the volume, you cannot blow up speakers with too powerful an amplifier. You CAN damage speakers if you listen at high volume with an amplifier that is not powerful enough for the speakers you are using. In that case the spe...
Plz advise on Denon PRA 1500/POA 2400 My POA 1500 only put out 150 watts and was marginal with the medium efficiency speakers I was using with it. The 2400 at 500 watts must be quite the powerful beast! You should be good to use it with almost any speaker.
Plz advise on Denon PRA 1500/POA 2400 I have no experience with the PRA 1500 and POA 2400 but if they sound anything like my PRA 1000 and POA 1500 from many years ago, you should have quite sweet sound. The only limitation that I ran into with the amp was it was not a high current des...
Replace pwr cord w/IEC socket on vintage gear? Go for the IEC jack. I had one installed on my cj PV 12L. Cost was minimal and being able to experiment with power cords yielded fine results. Cost effective and fun!
Mccormack DNA-1 describe the sound characteristics I didn't read all of the previous responses. Send your amp to SmC Audio and they will tame the upper midrange and treble and you'll enjoy the increased dynamics and bass power. Your money will be well spent!
Review: Polk Audio SDA-2 Speaker I had a pair of SDA-2s for about a week many years ago when they first came out. I was powering them with a Denon POA-1500 solid state amp rated at 150 watts/ch. BUT they were not delivering much in the way of current. As it turned out, the SDA ca...
Amp for Vandersteens 2ce sig 2's I am having great musical success with an SMc Audio modified McCormack DNA-1 Deluxe with my Vandy 3A Sigs. I have yet to read any correspondence about unsatisfactory results with such a combination. Either a DNA-1 or DNA - .5 should do the trick.
What amp next for Vandersteens? If you are wanting a more refined sound, consider a SMc modified McCormack amp. Every so often they appear on Audiogon for sale or you can purchase a used amp and have it modified to suit your sonic preferences. Steve McCormack and Kris Jeter at S...
Preamp Suggestions to replace a CJ PV-12AL The cj is a fine sounding piece. If you want more from it, you might consider having it modified to improve its sound in the way you desire. Consider RHB Dezigns for your mod. They did a beautiful job with my cj PV-12L. The sound still has the cha... |
