Vintage Philips MC cartridges, but who built them? After seeing them on the net, I've been curios too. This site is interesting, and they say Philips did make some. But the rest, makes me wonder, even thought I don't recall hearing one. I've had their USA products in the past ('80s), and would say...
Is Ultimate AV mag gone ? Glass Audio, and Speaker Builder combined. I don't read very much in the speaker area, but still enjoy the Glass Audio part. I guess it's just less interest in the hobby, and it's their way of surviving. The big box stores helped kill the regular ...
From pro to hi-fi and a little confused... I listen to everything from classical to rock and need something that will not bust my eardrums, but allow me to be on-stage with the band to feel the music as well as hear it.With rock music, it's hard to say. When I was young, I listened to musi...
Highest quality Internet Radio stations Definitely check between the different listening options they may give you. Just with headphones on, there was a major difference between what some of them offered.

There are billionaires that buy it now, because they think its the best. It would be nice if some of the smaller companies had the big...

What about a fan blowing over McIntosh 7205 AMP? Google heat shortens capacitor life. There is a lot of change (longer life)when they are cooler.
What about a fan blowing over McIntosh 7205 AMP? Make sure your not blowing dust into it. The dust could clog things up, and is a known problem for some laptops like Toshiba, and others. I use muffin fans myself on warm running amps. When I had some inefficient 4 ohm speakers, I had to.
Two physical grounds?? Also make sure the hot (phase) wire and neutral are correct. There are some older products out there that have one wire tied to the case/chassis. If it's backwards, that can be a deadly mistake.
Two physical grounds?? I'm not an electrician either. But you might be able to get a new ungrounded outlet somewhere. Another option would be to use a ground fault circuit interrupter, and I believe it needs to be labeled ungrounded on it. The extra ground rod is not an...
