Advice on a streamer I 2nd the idea of a Raspberry Pi. I have one with with a hat connected to my dac. You can get one for under $100 and then have $1400 for a great dac. I use Volumio and their subscription ($4 / month or so) that let's me use Tidal Connect from my p...
Devore 0/96 - Integrated AMP help I heard the O/93 with a Bryston SS amp and that worked great. Just another thing you may want to check out.
What is the reason for this? (Digital vs Vinyl Question) @sns"Simply enjoy both and upgrade as needed, I don’t get the angst over which format is best. Both are capable of artist in room amazement"I agree with the genral thought that both are good but I don’t really think "needed" is the right word. "Up...

Sonus Faber vs Wilson I think you should keep the SF for a year or two and spend the time thinking about what you want long term. Maybe go and listen to other speakers in the same price range as the Wilsons. Like Magico, Focal, Von Schweikert, MBL, etc. You may like bo...
Integrated Amps - another thread... I upgraded from a Rega Brio to a Schiit Ragnarok 2 and is very happy. It is a huge step up. You can get it with or without dac but I would go with. You can add an external dac later anyway but then go directly to a higher budget dac.
Rotel RA-1592 MK II or something else to deliver around 200W to B&W towers around $3000? +1 @kennyc I also think an integrated is the best bang for the buck in this price range. Either take one with a dac and buy a better dac later or buy a dac now.
Who is ditching their shiny disc spinners? @orgillian197 Of course you can backup everything. If you keep multiple copies it is a very, very low risk that you will lose it.I like to have one or two hard drives and a cloud based backup. If the cloud goes out of business I still have my hard...
Very new to high end audio - Recomendations +1 on hifishark. You can filter for the UK.A small integrated and a pair of small speakers may be found new for about £1000 and if you go used you can get better speakers. Some amps also include a dac but it may be worse than your dap. Or equal.Ma...
Long hiatus from audio, getting back into it, speaker/room help please If you are interested in Schiit I can recommend the Ragnarok 2 integrated. Really good sound for their price. Can be had with dac built-in. Then pair with good speakers that are somewhat easy to drive. I am thinking about Fyne F501 or F502.

Why the cost increase? Here is one explanation. He writes that it will be better in 2022 or 2023.https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/billconerly/2021/05/22/why-lumber-and-plywood-pric...
System forclassical music Hegel has a lot of integrated that can be had with built-in dacs. I personally like the Schiit Ragnarok integrated and think that it could be the base for a perfect system for them. Can also be had with dac. Then add some suitable speakers. I have...
CDP or DAC? 500 cd's sound like something you could rip. I would go that route. Either buy a server that can rip directly or buy a small computer (if you don't have one) for ripping and a server for playing music. Add a good dac if that is not built into the ...
