Tonearm microphonics
Raul:True story about me supplementing my bass.  The Wilsons put out such good clean sound, I hate to roll them off, besides, I'd have to get an active crossover to roll the lows off @ 80hz.  Maybe I will try it.  If I installed a filter, that onl...

Hi Raul:I have a couple of Wilson Maxx II's.  They're rated @ 20hz, but they don't quite get there.   If I place my subs in front of the speakers, won't that block my main bass?  I have had the subs facing each other before, but they were behind m...

Hi Raul:I've seen your name mentioned in several discussions, but don't know anything about you and really don't need to.  From other's comments, people look to you for advice.  I'm 63 years young and have been into sound since I was four.  I was ...

BTW, I have one TT on an inner tube and spiked, the VPI is spiked (it comes with it's own adjustable spiked feet) onto the discs that come with spikes.  The spike discs are on rubber compressor feet and my TT platform is isolated from the wall.  I...

Karl:When trying the tapping test, be sure your stylus is on the album at the end of it, where it tracks out.  If at rest or cued up, you shouldn't hear anything.  I use all balanced interconnects, except from my turntables.  I have to use SE there

I'm glad this subject was broached.  I've been in contact, just this week, with two well known experts in the hi-fi field, concerning acoustical feedback in my TT, when playing low frequency LP's at a louder than normal level.  The bass begins to ...
Koetsu surprise
I bought a Koetsu Urishi Black a few years ago. I mounted it on a Pioneer PL-71, I had bought, back in ’74. At first, it sound very tinny and I was very disappointed in it’s performance. I spoke with Koetsu and they informed me my tonearm, may not...

BTW-proper room treatment can turn a dog into a fox/really good sounding room. You can have the best components money can buy, but if your room and your set-up isn't good, you're  chasing your tail.

As stated earlier,  there's no substitute for good components, however, u have to work with what u can manage, at the time. I used to hold with the idea-good front end-good backend. Sounds good for other apps too😊  You have to have a good source,a...

Thanks for the info-I figured as much.  I have a Numark 272 I'm going to get a 4 conductor plug for and use it.
Feedback through turntable
Going on the advice of "How to Get Better Sound", I placed my TT platform on the side wall about 3 feet from my left speaker. Because my sound room is on the second floor and I have a suspended floor, I built a suspended platform, out from my wall...
Wilson Audio floor jack
I received my speaker jack today.  It's perfect.  No need to do any modifications-the bracket is rubber coated and the jack works perfectly.
Wilson Audio floor jack
Yes-I noticed.  No Problem, but thanks.  I will probably remove the bracket type base.  1" high!  Perfect.

I found the jack!  For those of you who need an ultra low profile speaker jack, go to California Car Cover and look for the "low billett" jack.  It's about 1" tall, lightweight aluminum and perfect for getting under those low profile speakers.  Ju...
