Wilson Maxx II problem I've learned a lot , although it be through other dealers who took time to talk to me. The woofer is matched somewhat to the crossover network I didn't really understand at first and being from Missouri, I had to be shown or I this case taught.
Wilson Maxx II problem Luckily for me, the damage isn't that bad. I can listen at normal to moderately high volume levels, before it starts to break up. I have as much time as I need, to research all scenarios. I'm still waiting to hear back from Wilson, to find out ho...
Wilson Maxx II problem Thanks Peter. I will be moving soon, so I'm going to get it done, while I'm otherwise occupied. I can still play it at 3/4 power and hear any problem, so I will keep it down, while I'm waiting.
Wilson Maxx II problem Has anyone ever heard of a woofer being matched to a specific serial number and crossover? I would a think a Wilson 13" woofer, would be the same, whether it was going in a Maxx II or any number of Maxx III's. To me, that's like saying a cartrid...
Wilson Maxx II problem :( I'm sure it's my woofer and I agree-the replacement price is in line with the cost of the speaker. Was just hoping for another solution. Any others out there will a comment?
Should I buy a Class A Amp. Class A amps are very quick and alive. There is no substitute for a good Class A bias amp. I have had both PassLabs and Krells. Both are good, but you can't beat a Krell. I have two 600E's and they have never disappointed.
Is it possible to be an audiophile and be happy with what you have There is almost always room for improvement on your sound, but some of the tweaks are ridiculous and some people "buy" right in to them. If you're looking for a huge improvement in your sound, as most of us are, I would suggest concentrating on t...
Proper Room Acoustics/Designs I must have not done a very good job of describing the room. There won't be any drywall-at all. 2 x 12's on all 6 walls, floor, etc. Sound diffusers and bass traps will be incorporated in the walls where ever is needed. The bass traps are like Hem...
Proper Room Designs/Dimensions for Best Acoutics I live close to Nashville and my dealer also has a great listening room. They have a couple of panels on the walls, with a trayed ceiling and some corners that are 45 degree angles, instead of 90's. I have heard Wilson speakers, with Martin Logan'...
Proper Room Acoustics/Designs I will take a look at Earl Geddes book. The reason Dennis wants the 2 x 12's all over, is so no additional acoustic panels are needed. I guess I need to post a picture of my current room. It has around 20-25 sound absorption panels on walls and ce...
Proper Room Acoustics/Designs Actually 1:1.6:2.33, but those can vary, depending on the size of your low frequency drivers. He advocates building a room inside a room, with all 6 parameters to be 12 inches deep (front, back, sides, floor and ceiling). He then builds Carbon fil...
Solid state phono/linestage vs Tubes Thanks for all those who took the time to respond. I think I may have over exaggerated my tube rush noise. It's really quite low, but still wondered about quality solid state preamps. I've yet to connect my Rhea to my Theta, but may do so today(to...
getting back to vinly I think that is spelled Vinyl?
Krell Evolution 400e Thanks for responding. I will certainly entertain the idea of picking up a set of these. I have been missing my old KMA 160's-anxious to get a similar sound back in the house. I emailed Krell on two different occasions-to no avail.
Record-playing Rituals? I purchased a Spinclean and later a VPI 16.5. I'm using my Zerostat, TT's are grounded and everything is great. A couple of better cartridges also added to my listening pleasure. |
