How NOT to sell an item on Audiogon I for one appreciate good photos of the actual component instead of stock pictures. The rest is to be taken with a grain of salt. Any smart buyer, will do their own research.
I think I've Just Seen Absolute Proof That Audiophiles Are Insanely Gullible I received a "stock" clamp with my VPI Scoutmaster, but have only used it a few times. My records are flat. Even my lp's from the 70's and 80's. I've used it, but can't hear a difference. And will someone please explain to me the benefits of cable...
Putting your components inbetween your speakers. I have tried many setups and have found I get the best sound with nothing in the "listening triangle."
need advice for sound improvement I built a modified QRD 13 that's 20" deep, with the verticals 3.5" wide. It broadened my soundstage and helped my bass. I placed it flush with my front wall. Hemholtz absorbers may work, or Dennis Foley has plans for an absorber I'm going to try. ...
Tinnitus - do you have ringing in the ears? What did u "say?" I can't "hear" u due to this constant ringing in my ears. I heard magnesium would help, but it took the fidelity out of my hearing.
What’s in your system today that you also had 10 years ago? As far as equipment I still use, I have a Theta Miles CD player I love. I use the analog balanced outputs. I also use my 1974 Pioneer PL 71 TT, which has a Koetsu Urishi Black mounted to it. I had to increase the tonearm's mass, but it sounds as g...
For tube sound, which is more important: preamp or power amp? I agree with mofimadness. The preamp will give u the tone u want; the power amp will amplify that sound. IMO, u can't have a power amp that's too powerful. Class A bias is the way to go, if u can swing it. 600-1200 watts is good, depending on your...
Dedicated 20 amp lines/should i use a sub panel So many responses, I apologize if this was already said: make sure all lines come off the same side of your 220 line.
New system has fatiguing, harsh high frequency sounds. How to fix? It's good you're going to separate your systems. If u just have to have a receiver, find one that has MOSFET transistors, instead of IC chips. Your sound will be much fuller and not as tinny sounding. There were many good suggestions about the roo...
Balanced Preamp recommendations up to $5,500 I had a stock Aesthetix Calypso I recently upgraded to a Signature. After around 350 hours break-in time, I love the sound. It's almost dead quiet, going into my Krell monoblocks. It's neutral sounding and is fully balanced.
Leather couch, leather love seat or single wooden chair Thanks to all, who responded. I'm building two QRD-11's to go behind my listening chair. Thought if I had a sofa, it would probably block the diffusers. Going to place my modified QRD-13 in place on my front wall this weekend. It's designed to mai...
Leather couch, leather love seat or single wooden chair Do any of u think, u loose anything sonically, when using a sofa, as opposed to a single chair? I'm using Max II's. I wondered if the sound may be interfered with, when using the couch.
Phono Stage Recommendation $3000 Srafi: I have the Aesthetix Rhea Signature and love it. It started out as a basic Rhea and upgraded, before I heard it. It's very versatile. I've had many AR models and the Rhea is much more warm sounding to me. Start out with the basic and if u ...
Getting The Most Out Of A Koetsu Urushi I have posted and read so many threads, where the response has not much in common, with the actual question-Hope I don't fall in that category. I purchased a Koetsu Urishi Black a few years ago. I added it to a Pioneer Pl-71. It sounded very tinn...
To all of you engineers out there-and others... Randy-11: The diffuser will have a main frame, different depth wells attached to the top and bottom of the frame, as well as the sides, but no main back. It will be open in the back. |
