Are Harbeth Super HL5 XD right for me?
@arafiq exactly, the 1.5-3K price range may be the most competitive. Lots of choices and trickle-down tech to benefit from.

another thing going for them - when selling -  is high retail value
Are Harbeth Super HL5 XD right for me?
it is true that the Harbeth model line-up's pricing is linear - as opposed to other speaker series (B&W, KEF, Tannoy, etc.) that are more exponential -  not that it's an apples to apples comparison.  So possibly, from that lens, the more expen...

what you have now is synergy between your components and synergy between your speakers and your ears. Once you change it the synergy may be gone. With new speakers you may need to change another component... maybe not. For one the KHLs have a high...

@bigtwin Silly? Really? I think you could have made your point without the degrading adjective. PERCENTAGE is what’s what I said/meant, but if you want to misinterpret it, whatever... "bigger percentage of my income" applied to my taxes as well....

@dadork the word rich wasn't about a number but about an attitude. Guess what? People who have money are the most charitable!  for one, I disagree with this sentence, I donate a much bigger percentage of my income than the most charitable ric...

we are all sitting on the curve of diminishing returns, in different spots. Think about what else you could do with the money, and what would make you happier,  You have a great system and you obviously know how to enjoy music with or without car...
Integrated Amp Shopping Decisions
"your best bang for the buck" and "I have one for sale" sounds like a great deal because you know it firsthand.
Integrated Amp Shopping Decisions
I would advise against the Lintons as I had them, in a similar sized room, and they sounded chaotic. Not only that, it had no pluses, no musicality, decent vocals, clarity, depth, nothing. Maybe it was a lemon.

@holeras1962 plays well into the psyche of the audiophile. It reminded me of a friend who owned two cafes and then opened a bar and she said: when people buy a coffee, they sit down and drink it. When they buy a beer or a glass of wine, they ...
Pro-ject vs Rega
@cd318 I wouldn't start with a P8 unless the rest up the system is up to it or the OP plans to upgrade everything to match the P8. You can't hear the difference between a P3 and a P3+ unless you have the speakers, phono amp, amp to carry that signal
