jazz/blues piano players
Hank Jones, last living of the three Jones brothers (Elvin and Thad). Great player even in his 90s.
Explain the asthetics of Punk
for a neophite the best way to describe punk might be: $@#% YOU!!!
Music and politics
Agree or disagree with their messages - the one thing you can say about pop stars is that they're egos are so big that they all think because they happen to be holding a mic, for some reason you should care about what they think of politics.

U2 has been leaning to the left for almost thirty years. If you're just noticing it now you haven't been paying attention.
a Couple of Good Jazz Picks
i do not have that one. But I'll check it out.
Charles Lloyd suggestions
Rabo de Nube, his newest album, is exceptional. It's more accessable than some of his other albums and its a truly great recording. Very very smooth sounding.
Cambridge 840c burn in
The 840 is great, but then I throw on a vinyl record and it sounds so nice.... It's enough to make you looney!

What Amp/Pre with Spendor S8es.
I'd like to get the whole thing in for around 5K. At the moment I'm using AQ Copperhead ICs and Speltz Anti-Wire speaker cables, but I imagine I'll probably upgrade all of that in this deal too.
Jolida JD100 and Arcam FMJ CD36 or CD37
I'd second the tube rolling on the Jolida. I got a set of NOS Phillips tubes from Upscale Audio and I got an additional half an octive out of the bass.
VIP, SOTA & Oracle Turntables
I have a twenty year old Sota Star Sapphire with an upgraded platter and I never get tired of using it. Built like a tank; terrific imaging and image solidity; a pleasure to use and own.
Yuseff Lateef Prestige/Moodsville Question
This is not an OJC. Definately original. Good to know. A few ticks but very playable and a good find. Thanks!
Turntable/Tonearm Advice
I've got a 20 year old Star Sapphire vacuum table that I love. You can't go wrong with a Sota. They're built like tanks and the imaging on the vacuum tables is terrific.
LAST - then and now?
Well, I’ve never tried Last but it seems like a great idea to go online and belittle people having a friendly discussion like a high-handed ba$t@rd – especially when you’re a retailer trying to sell stuff to those same people. Or would that be a r...
