10 Commandments of a Vinyl Audiophile
Everything above AND... get yourself a good record cleaning machine like a VPI 16.5. They're a little pricey to get into, but once you have one you'll never know how you got by without it.
An Experiment in Speaker Placement
I have resorted to placing the sofa cushions against the wall behind the speakers to dampen resonances on occasion, but eventually someone wants to actually SIT on the couch.
suggestions for a warm cd player not too much $$
Try a Jolida JD 100. They cost about $500 used and they have a nice warm presentation. You can improve later by adding NOS tubes.

Yeah, well, she actually volunteered to see if we could figure out how to make this setup work, but seeing as how there would only be my chair in the sweet spot, she'd be a second class listener shunted off to the side for sure. Plus I'd have to m...
Looking for new speakers
You also might want to consider a pair of Spendor S8e's. They are more money new, but when they come up here on A-gon they usually seem to be around $1500 and they are a terrific pair a little higher in the Spendor line.
Quick Recommendation
I think my wife got it on Amazon.
New Blue Note XRCDs
Horace Parlan, Speaking My Piece is excellent too.The only late 50s/early 60s Blue Note I know of, in any format, where the piano sounds more or less natural is Blue Trane, and even there its not great. Try the 45RPM vinyl. That is one GOOD record...

Question regarding reputation of SOTA tables
I have a Star Sapphire that's been upgraded. You can spend a heluva lot more money for a lot less turntable. Always a pleasure to use.

Accuphase or Musical fidelity for Focal Micro Be
The M3 is a great amp, but it gets distortion issues when the selector volume pots get dirty. There's only one guy who services them in the country. On the other hand, the thing is built like a tank and sounds wonderful. A once every ten-year clea...
Musical Fidelity integrateds which is best??
It's a little older, but don't ignore the Nuvista M3. Great sounding amp, built like a tank with a lot of power.
