Not JS but CPE Bach Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. The son of JS. Well respected, although not as revered as his father. But then, how could he compete?
Anyone got and album database for iPhone? Actually doing the inventory would be a huge headache. Anything out there for us pc users?
McIntosh 501's, Mcintosh 7000 Going from Nordost to Speltz cable seems like a switch destined to rob your system of some detail. The Speltz are great for the money, but they're not going to give you all the detail your amps are capable of. I got rid of mine in favor of LAT Int...
I'll play it & tell you what it is later Well, its possible that RVG re-mastered the tapes at some point, but he did not record them. They were produced by Walter Rivers at Capital. From what I've read it was the only thing he produced at the label, so he really lucked out. I readily con...
Bias on solid state? Well, I not sure what helped what BUT the pots were cleaned out, the power caps were replaced, and the amp was biased and the results are not subtle. The amp is MUCH quieter and the highs are noticibly smother and more detailed. I have not idea ho...
Alright ? Who brought the bandeon to the jazz gig? Bandoneon... you're right. I mis-spelled it. Can't stand it!

Bias on solid state? Right, but to the best of my knowledge, the Nevistors are only in the pre section of the integrated, not the output power amp section. Should the adjustment have any practical effect on sound?
Appraising Vintage Turntable A-gon has a price history section so you can look at recent transactions and how much money was involved.
Mingus, Charles Mingus? Don't miss the Bethlehem dates. A little earlier but still terrific.
Recommend Well-Recorded Hard Bop Jazz on CD? For newer recordings, but in that tradition, check out the Sharp Nine record label (www.sharpnine.com). They've got really great talent and their recording quality is consistently first-rate. The Grant Stewart albums, as well as the Anthony Wonsey...
Sonus Faber Fenice Rather massive, severe and un-graceful for an SF speaker.
any audiophile guitarists out there? @Kijanki - I'd never do that today... but when I was thirteen, had a guitar and no amp... well it seemed like a good idea at the time.
any audiophile guitarists out there? Anyone ever try this dumb trick - before you were old enough to know better, of course - cutting a guitar cable and rigging it to RCA jacks and then running it through a hi-fi amp? I'm fairly sure those old speakers were never intended to be playe...
Three best audiophile CD/LP in your collection Shelly Manne and His Men Play Peter Gunn - I have this on OJC CD and original vinyl and it sounds great - I would love to see someone re-do this on 45rpm vinyl.Blue Trane - the recent 45 RPM version is phenominal, and one of the best quality recor... |
