Mountain Indeed, Nantucket Sleighride is the name of the album (1971 release). I have it on BGO records; have never seen an audiophile version.Cheers!
best budget integrated amp for rock n roll music? I could add the Densen Beat series... have also liked the "rocking" abilities of the rega, cyrus, & mfd -- but pls note, I have never listened to any of these machines with your speakers! Finally, a (very) long shot: a used model "RG9" made by ...
Out of Control Pbb: It was Bryston 7s & Accuphase 1000 (not 2000). My mistake for sounding general. I was just detailing the system & surroundings, as you had asked for in your 11/9 post. Thanks for yr latest informative response. I agree with your exper...
What would you do?? SO what it all boils down to is: keep the speakers, replace the drivers. With good units' soldering and screwing onto the cabinet, checking out the c/over maybe... the speakers will start singing again!MUCH cheaper than Grande Utopia! "Cheaper rep...
Is Genesis out of business? "...honor the guarantee": difficult one! The dealer -- or nobody, is my unfortunate guess!
Out of Control Pbb, sorry for delay. Experience at a friend's house. The (modest) system: Clearaudio/Morch/Clearaudio Victory, YBA 1 cdp, CAT III line -- proprietary phono (tube), Avanti III speakers. We were 4 people: i.e., the two "audio" nuts (:-) ) & our ...
Need troubleshooting help go easy on me... Newbie Wksesq, don't know yr phono. So, simple guidelines follow: first check the connections on the PHONO: the arm cable should go to PHONO "IN" left / right(red) at the correct set of inputs ("hi-output", MM -or similarly noted). Second, connect the I/...
Micromega problem Kenp2, they changed them all, as well as the small bead caps with a higher value, same voltage. This was a Micromega recommended "upgrade" that cost next to nothing ($10-15? back then). I can look for the technician if you wish (couldn't find him ...
Most Tedius Part of Audiodom Setup/Tweak/DIY ? Speaker placement & equipment support. As I'm not a builder unlike Bob above, tuning the equip through supports has always been the worst. Move a cone and the sound shifts, add mass, and there it goes again. Not better or worse, just different...
Lyra Helikon Thomas, I subscribe to Fcrowder's views, both 1st & last. The reasoning follows:A)The lower the output the higher the (pre) amplification required, i.e. an extra "step" to the standard 47 RIAA equalisation. B)The lower output cartridge, "outpu...
Out of Control Pbb, answering your question: I agree. S/W is the first limitation in our (my) reproduction chain. In this respect, discussions are about "getting the best out of my (limited) s/w". In "emphasis should be placed on listening to the music" - (rathe...
Best blues guitarist, Clapton or Green Pbb, I fully, wholeheartedly, subscribe to your last sentence.Great blues guitarists manage to communicate playing even a single note on the guitar...You saw G. Brown live -- lucky devil!
Out of Control Pbb, I beg to differ on yr amps example because I have heard HUGE differences, in an unrestrained manner. This said, however, the whole system was commensurate (Accuphase quality levels). Also, I listen to classical, a lot of it live -- which infl...
Girlfriends and wifes, how do YOU cope? Great post, Mrs D! And thanks for taking the time to post... Re, Stereo's post: my problem is loudness. When I play loud, my wofe leaves the room. She leaves me in the room -- but it's more fun listening with her company than w/out!Cheers!
Micromega problem It could be in the power supply board -- op or caps. I'm guessing from a similar problem I had years ago: the technician changed the op amps.Good luck! |
