everything sounded great until the upgrade
@grislybutter    😊… you’ll get it.
Best Home HIFi you’ve listened to
@jeffseight  I lived in Tucson for 25 years… did a lot of my early audiophile stuff there. But I now live in the Pacific Northwest… near Portland. You get up here give me a holler.
Do these look similar?
Little to question here. Probably made in China. If so. What can happen is a production line is set up for a company (probably Wilson)…. the contract manufacturer produce the run for Wilson… a thousand.. The parts are shipped to the US and the p...
Best Home HIFi you’ve listened to
I like to be modest, but after 50 years of working at it, mine. I have all Audio Research Reference components: Phonostage, DAC, Preamp, and amp (see my user ID). My streamer is Aurender W20SE and Turntable is a Linn LP12 (almost Klimax) with Sonu...

@grislybutter The book will not frustrate you… it talks a lot on how to assemble a great system on a shoestring budget. Knowledge empowers you and makes you more effective regardless of budget.

@sns  +1 Good comments.

OP, read your problem and skimmed the responses. Early in my pursuit of high end audio I had a few mis-steps. Assembling a great system takes patience and effort… especially on a budget. If this is something you plan on pursuing (with effort it ...
Aurender N10 or Auralic Aries G2 (+ Auralic G2 Master Clock)
I have owned a Aurlic Aries G2, owned Aurender N100 and W20SE, as well as auditioned the N10.. I found the Aurender to sound better, easier to, use, better support.
Choosing a network player/streamer
I would recommend looking at an Aurender streamer. I own two after many including an Auralic Aries G2 and being disappointed. Aurender has a great interface… incredible natural sound quality. Plug in, register to Qobuz (the best streaming survive)...
Bookshelf dilemma
Could you put some photos of your system / space in your profile? This would make recommendations much easier.
Fed rate increase = lower hifi prices?
@ghasley +1 @deludedaudiophile I love Japan, just like mainland China… lots of space to enjoy living… I have lived there for over a couple years.. I’m not that keen on Taiwan… too many mopeds, too many earthquakes. Singapore nice and clean. I...
Too Much Power
The power rating of 600 wpc into 8 ohms and 1200 wpc into 4 ohms is the mark of a good quality amp… as far as power. Also, there is no such thing as too much power…. Assuming you don’t crank up a little set of speakers to ridiculous volumes.   H...
Fed rate increase = lower hifi prices?
@soix  +1   Good to see someone has a grasp on economics. Anyone suggesting gouging does not. Inflation is high… supply short… audio manufacturers have no choice… they do not want to raise prices…
The past meets the future
@williewonka    ”scratchy sections”… I hate that… I don’t get it. I immediately jump to something else. I really really hate it, and do not understand it. Having spent so much time and money to eliminate that sound… why would you put it into a r...
Rogue Audio and Audio Research Comparisons
I know some people with both a Ref 160s and a REF 75se… while the REF160s is an upgrade they just can’t part with the REF75SE because it sounds so good.    Personally I always trade in my amp to reach up the maximum possible… I think folks not be...
