Good cassette player? I just gave away a Nakamichi LX-5. I think most folks abandoned them decades ago. I would think AudioGon or eBay will get you a old high end machine for almost nothing. I would just use single ended interconnects… it is not high fi by todays stand...
Just got a new Bluesound Node. Very disappointed! Airplay is not even remotely at the same level of performance. I have to agree, I think you got a defective unit.
ARC LS7 preamp channels drop out intermittently What I would do is get a replacement set (couple matched sets) pronto… like from The Tube Store. If this solves the problem, then go get some from Audio Research (They do extensive testing and I like supporting them)… or Upscale, if you want play ...
The new dynamic in speaker pricing A top level speaker company needs to advance the art. To do that they constantly refine and build the very best, cost no object speakers. They are critical in showing off what they are capable of. Then they substitute compromises to build speakers...
What do you consider the most when choosing a pair of speakers? Well, sound. But what I have been looking for has changed radically over the last 50 years. At first it was slam, then ethereal treble, details and slam and now musicality with details in the correct perspective, midrange bloom and detailed natura...
Just got a new Bluesound Node. Very disappointed! OP, While the Bluesound is a budget streamer… what you describe does not sound right. Have you tried alternative connections? It has 4 different outputs… I would try an alternative. Something wrong with the interconnect.
MM, MC, or MI cartridge OP, After reading a review of the Hana ML… sounds like a great cartridge. Congratulations, I look forward to hearing about what you think of it.
Are CD lens cleaners (disks) B.S. or effective? I had a cleaner pad and fluid if I experienced a skip. I noticed no improvement with just cleaning. I used the fluorescent green edge pens… those I’d help improve the sonics a little bit… stray light bouncing around I am sure.
Unfinished basement listening room OP, Thank you. I listen about three hours a day and have to drag myself away. However, for much of my audio history it has not been pretty… I think most folks here are primarily concerned with sound more than looks. You can always update photos.
Unfinished basement listening room OP, How about some photos under your UserID… virtual systems. It would be great to see what you are talking about.
Why Rumble One Side of Album OP, Is it always on the same side?
Audio PC OP, I think we need some context to be helpful. For high quality audio you need a streamer… which is technically a PC, but designed around being nothing else… a great steamer will weigh 30 lbs or more, look like an audio component and do nothing ...
Interconnect or USB cable Unfortunately, it just depends on your components and system. I have had analog, digital, USB, or power cord make a huge difference… or not. I typically I do speaker cable first, then interconnects, amp power cords next, and finally USB, My dealer...
Preferences and system dependent OP, Thanks for sharing. Great to hear your feedback in your system. I was privileged to have a pair of Nordost Odin 2 in my system for a couple weeks. They were sublime. Clearly what you hear will be highly dependent on your equipment. In ...
Isn't it really about quality of recording? @fleschler Amazing. I used to shop at PDQ Records in Tucson. Unfortunately, the closed a few years ago. Been there? Are you a record guy… Don’t care much about the system… or both. Love to see what a collection like that looks like. |
