AudioQuest Hurricane and PS Audio AC12
My audio guy brought one over to try on my amp. I was not happy with the different versions of cords I had tried. The difference was very large, all positive. An outstanding value.
This cable game is making my head spin
@blue_collar_audio_guy “That would make all my cables that model. Giving me a baseline.”   That is a great idea. If you like the overall tonal balance and presentation you can move up the product models. If you don’t you can move to a different...
How best to eliminate LP warps
Honestly, I have 2,000 records. A very few (5?) have a slight edge warp that doesn’t have much of an impact. The other three that were warped I threw away.    Is there a source like Warped Records dot Com you guys are buying from?
Looking for a change.
I always recommend getting all your components worked out… compatible and synergistic… then work on interconnects and power cords. My objective is always the best possible sound for what I can afford at the time. So best possible components… figur...
Another person going digital and full of questions
@jjss49  Excellent answers!    Particularly the note that virtually all music starts out digitally recorded today.    I have noted elsewhere my digital and analog ends have exactly the same character as well as level of detail. This really says...
Most Realistic Recordings
Speaking of Joe Jackson; Body and Soul. Joe went out looking for the perfect venue in New York to make the recording. He found an all wood stage… or whatever and specifically tried to make the best recording possible. It is drop dead gorgeous… two...
which is a better speaker

Awaiting a 1st impression
Yeah Geezers! A group I feel lucky to be a member of.
Is an unbalanced preamp a bad thing?
@runwell   +1. Don’t worry about the connections. It’s all about the component. I would take a Conrad Johnson component using an single ended connection over a Mark Levinson, Naim, Macintosh, or any number of brands any day.
Disappointing short life of NOS preamp tube
It sounds like around 5,000 hours.   I have heard NOS have long lives… but as a kid also remember taking tubes down to the tube tester at The local drug store. I suspect some over romanticizing. And of course “average life” has a bell curve distr...
Has anyone compared Rogue RP-7 to Cary SLP05 and / or Audio Research Ref 5se?
he does say what tubes. I am on vacation or I would look it up.   Put this in your browser: the perfect sound garrett hongo   To be honest there are some enjoyable chapters sharing his enthusiasm and nearly out of control obsession for audio (...
What is this term 'analytical' ?
OP, You are going to have to listen to different systems while learning the terminology. Here is a glossary of terminology.   https://www.stereophile.com/reference/50/index.html
Question about speaker angle
@audiosens    Nice system! 45” - 55” in general would be a very short base, but as always very system / room dependent.  Looking at your system / room it looks completely appropriate.
Has anyone compared Rogue RP-7 to Cary SLP05 and / or Audio Research Ref 5se?
@garyalex    Yep, The Perfect Sound… that is it.
Is an isolation transformer better than a power conditioner?
The result of power conditioners is highly dependent on your home and the incoming power. Typically direct lines (one for components and one for the power amp) is always a good improvement. Generally the power conditioner is used only for compone...
