Atma-Sphere Class D… Amazing
One of the reasons I have bought Atmasphere's products is that Ralph can clearly and simply describe why his equipment works as good as it does.- As well as how we perceive sound. Bob
Atma-Sphere Class D… Amazing
Well, I just put in my order for a pair of Atmasphere Monoblocks. I was not considering Class D amps, but when Ralph embarked on this new path, I have been very interested in giving them a try. And, as many know, I am a Vandersteen guy, so ownin...
Audiogon infested with pop-up ads
Duck Go Go and Google Chrome is another choice. I also use AdBlock Pro, but it seems to make Audiogon go nuts with checking to see if the browser is 'safe'.   I say, too bad, if you want to make it unusable for me, I have a bunch of other forums...
Dual Subwoofers?
2 subs are great. I bet you'll hear from the DEBRA (distributed Bass Array) users, too. Though, I would opt to using the amp outputs instead of the preamp. Bob
Recommendations for HiFi Listening Room
+2 for Vandersteen Quatro's. +1 for Magnepan Don't forget Sound Lab, if you like planar speakers.   I would like to add my 2 cents/piece of advice- When I started out in the 80's, there were lots of dealers in the NY area and I could listen t...
anyone know how to get Townshend Audio replacement parts?
+1 @ozzy. Sue is one of the best. Townshend, stands behind their products. Though they may be small manufacturers, it is always comforting that they provide great service. Bob

Townshend pod answer needed
+1 on previous comments.  I tried adjusting my pods and previous posters measurements mimic mine. Bob
Why not?
Audio companies don't want to increase prices of their units with 'better cables' that may or may not work with their systems. So, they leave it to owners to decide what they like/want. That is the reason. (And, yes, I asked them). B
We Can Make Classic Cars Outperform Today's "SuperCars": Why Not Vintage Audio?
@waytoomuchstuff , Just because an older method can outperform newer ones doesn't address other factors that might be at play. Sure, older models might smoke the newer, but at what cost? Ride quality, emissions, fuel consumption, etc.? Asking ...
Diagonal seating?
I tend to not be so anal about seating and positioning, but then I use speakers that are somewhat forgiving as they are time and phase aligned. Duke Elliington said: 'If it sounds good, it is good'. So, if your 'distracted' listening moments so...
purchasing used Ayre V-5xe? good purchase?
In my opinion, anything from Ayre is a quality product that will be serviced whether you are the original owner or second or third. And, anything with the Diamond circuit is killer. I own the MX-R/KX-R (non Twenty) and find them to be very capabl...
Do older power cables still hold up to newer ones?
+1 on your nice equipment. I will preface with the fact that I never thought cables would affect sound reproduction in a meaningful way... However, when I demoed the new (then) Audioquest cables, I had to admit that, yes cables do make a differe...
