Pass labs xa25 amp and BW 804 d3?
As I said, I know Pass overbuilds his amps, and you might not have any issues, but once again, why tempt fate?If it were me, I'd take the safe route and get a higher powered amp. I believe in having lots of headroom when it comes to power. Then if...
one short and one long speaker cable work?
@geoffkait .I don't think it would damage anything, but knowing that different brands have different sound qualities, why bother? The question the OP posed was whether it wise to use unequal lengths.Where's Almarg when we need him?B
Looking for new speakers
+1 Stevecham.I recently listened to the Triton 1's, and they do sound nice, very nice, but my Vandy's seem to be more real, in my opinion. There's nothing like time and phase aligned speakers with pistonic drivers.Bob
Down to 2 speakers & I can't decide, ProAc D48R vs Spendor D9
+1 AkgAnd, don't forget about Vandersteen...Bob
Classical Music for Aficionados
Come now, all of us here on Audiogon are always playing with their systems. It's that 'what if I do this/that' that is always in the back of their mind. For me, I have to say I have very little to change-I love my system that much-Which is saying s...
Pass labs xa25 amp and BW 804 d3?
B&W says 50 wpc minimum, the amp is 25 wpc. So, I rather doubt it will play anything but softly before clipping.Though I know Pass has a rugged build, why push it?B
Dealing with a power amp that need 20A connection
It is not ideal, but you can use the amp with a 15 amp line via a plug adapter. As long as you don't crank it up, you should have no problems. If the breaker trips, then you'll probably have to get your lines upgraded, which isn't a big deal- In fa...

To tweet or not...
I, too, have been intrigued by the super tweeter addition. I know Townshend Audio makes one. If I were to do it, I would contact the manufacturer and give them all the details to see if it will work before buying.Kalali's post has me thinking this...
How to protect seller's rights?
That's great to hear. There's nothing worse than a bad transaction.Out of curiosity, is the buyer keeping the unit or sending it back?B
Streamer always on?
And, thankfully, DAC's don't consume much power. Considering how we are gouged here on Long Island.B
one short and one long speaker cable work?
Then it would be out of phase. And, you know how my delicate ears hate that.B
Moving to Tidal
+1 Coach,Though many berate Spotify's non high rez output, I really don't find it all that bad. Yes, Tidal does sound better, even non-MQA, but if you can't listen to what you want, what does it matter?B
Streamer always on?
The folks at Ayre also recommended leaving their DAC's on 24/7.They said it doesn't wear anything out, but gives better sound with the circuits warmed up.Bob
