TRANSPORTER???
If you do purchase a Transporter (ideally the Ultra SE) you then owe it to yourself to purchase a better power cord (eg Atmosphere L3) and upgrade to Black or Blue fuses throughout (as I recall it takes 3 fuses) -- in other words you can end up sp...
TRANSPORTER???
Are you referring to the Synergistic Research transporter? Or something else. If the former it provides an improved power supply to any active shielded SR Cables. Benefits include lowered noise floors and greater clarity
New Tweak --- Its Fantastic
I've been following this thread with some interest and am in theory interested in using TC in the context of my system (although given it's complexity and number of connections applying TC is not something I'd relish short of a full breakdown if/w...
Better "Noise Cancelling" Headphones for Air Travel?
Rather than go for active noise cancelling headphones (all of which mess up the sound to some degree) why not go for in ear monitor type headphones (the type which stick into your ear canal and significantly block out outside noise)Assuming you ca...

You can on Hifi shark. By looking At the open and close dates of closed listings you can tell which sold and you can link through to the original listing. You cannot see the actual selling price however

"Original" equipment vs. upgraded equipment
@grk regarding the difference between an ARC SE version that was the result of an upgrade from a non SE and one that was not. The latter while identical in circuit terms will contain some parts that are older than others and so will potentially ag...

Why did Joel go with a detachable cable on a straight DIN for the Kairos over the captive I the Talea?Possible reasonsa) price (arm w/o cable is less), esp. if you already own a suitable cableb) let user choose cable that works best for them, I bo...
Can One Display Their Audio Wares on Audiogon?
Ok @toddalin. That’s exactly how not to do it. By simply placing an advert including links for direct sale you’re more than likely to have it removed. Who would AudioGon let folks advertise like this when they’re in the business of running a paid ...
How to make your first sale at agon
Regarding rating -- 9 is really "brand new in box", 10 is for unopened items. 8 is in reality as good a grade as you should see for an item that's really been used so I think it sounds like appropriate in your case
Can One Display Their Audio Wares on Audiogon?
For a textbook example of how to use this site to raise awareness of a niche service see the following thread which remains even keeled without hype or shillinghttps://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/modding-synergistic-research-mpc-to-galileo-stat...
Galibier Stelvio II, Durand Kairos with Lyra Kleos (HEAVEN)
Also congrats on a great setup. Do take the time to get to know the Kairos yourself (despite the great job I'm sure that Thom did in set up). The first time you clumsily knock the arm you'll potentially throw it off its pivot so knowing how to set...
How to make your first sale at agon
If your item is well described and priced reasonably it will sell. Grade very conservatively and don't attempt to nickel and dime on PayPal fees, shipping etc (ideally offer free shipping in the continental US for example)In other words make it as...
Carbon fibre sleeve over existing cabling, incredible
Geoff -- CF is conductive so would have a shielding effect. I got good results from grounding my CF stands for example (and yes it's easy to test conductivity with a MM)OP -- as it's conductive be careful how you use it so as not to cause a shortY...
