Looking to Upgrade Outlet
The SR Black outlets would seem an obvious choice given you like the SR line. It’s a very layered, rich and musical outlet that I have in my system and was a good step up over the TESLA Plex outlet I had previously
Top 5 Tonearms Newer or Vintage Under 2500 That Will Beat anything above/below 2.5k?
@2channel8 i used to own a Wand+. It’s a great sounding tonearm for the money and in my system outperformed an SME-IV. It definitely has a unipivot zip and liveliness that was what I was looking for. As with any unipivot it takes some attention to...
Iphone App for tuning your system in the room
the SpectrumAnalyzer from ONYX Labs is a pretty good real time analyzer. You should also look into getting a better mic for the iPhone as the inbuilt mike has some known deviations. Overall however i find these apps as more helpful confirmatory to...
Synergistic Grounding Block and Tweaking it.
Having taken SR products apart in the past (Galileo MPCs, Galileo interconnect shielding boxes etc) I have to say at least historically the build quality and content was definitely "meh". The more recent stuff, like the Powercell 12UEFSE is much m...
Anyone have issues with shipping Canada to USA?
Ship Canada Post and mark as used and you should have no issues -- at $200 I don't think any duty is due anyways. I've shipped loads of things both ways via the post office with no issues
We Need A Separate Forum for Fuses
Perhaps it's just the less constructive posters who are being blocked -- seems as if Geoff and I can post freely to the original Blue thread 😌
We Need A Separate Forum for Fuses
Thread the Blue thread is alive and well (like the Blues in my power amps)https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/the-new-synergistic-research-blue-fuses
Phonostages with Adjustable Curves, the Concise List
@chakster this recent review illustrates the value of multiple curves to suit the way specific records were cut (nothing to do with loading)https://positive-feedback.com/audio-discourse/gold-note-ph-10-phono/

Long RCA interconnects
OK that's a healthy 2mV output so the phono stage will be outputting 1.4V which is a good signal and should put you in as good a situation as you could hope to drive that long single ended run. If you had a .3mV output (i.e. typical low output MC)...
AC Power cable for ARC Ref 5 se.
Adding a link of a picture of the backhttp://www.usaudiomart.com/details/649227690-audio-research-ref5se-preamp-new-in-factory-sealed-box-...All ARC manuals are searchable, but oddly the manual does not specify what form the cord isAll the current...
Long RCA interconnects
Wow that’s a low gain phono stage (42dB/57dB) - so you could be in for some issues if you’re driving a long run off it. The stage itself is capable of driving a healthy 2-20V output but it would be good to know what’s coming in, what cartridge do ...
Long RCA interconnects
You might be lucky. I used to have a 30’ run single ended from my preamp to mono blocks. With it running below the floor in the crawl space I used to have no issues. I then moved temporarily to a rental and had to run it on the floor and it was un...
Long RCA interconnects
18’ of single ended interconnects is a recipe for terrible hum and noise problems. 6’ is the practical maximum length for a single ended run. Do you have the option of running balanced cable?
