Golden ear triton 1 vs tekton double impact speakers
You are a funny guy, Kosst. While I appreciate a good AMT, I've never heard GE speakers use one. Also, having measured them several times, I have no idea what this artifact is you speak of, do you have a paper to point me to? Also, while the issue...
Golden ear triton 1 vs tekton double impact speakers
There’s no reason to believe stuffing a heap of tweeters in a box is good engineering. Given the paucity of such products and the general lack of success for those that do exist, it would seem the virtue is lacking. Throwing parts in a box is ne...
Is the Raspberry Pi with Allo DigiOne the Ideal SPDIF transport?
USB isn’t the issue as much as the power and ground loops, which I hope most DAC’s now properly isolate. Still, I’m all for inexpensive streamers. The advantage of USB however is still bandwidth.
Understanding peak current in amplifiers and AC power distributors
OP:For the most part these are all about bragging, which in the end only matters to a smidgen of speakers. Your ears and wallet should be the biggest reasons to pick an amplifier, not current specs per se.  The relationship between peak, rated amp...
Carver Amazing Line Source Speakers
@ozzy Interesting DIY project! I've done very similar, but using Mundorf AMT's and Clarity caps which I prefer over the top of the line Mundorfs.I can honestly say that after going to two shows here in the Northern California area there's not a pa...

@RoberjermanSticking a dozen tweeters in a cabinet is just plain bad engineering! GenesisInfinityMcIntoshCBT by Keele and ButtonQSCMaybe you should enhance your engineering background a little before you opine? Listening would also help. Best,Erik
The Future of HiFI?
The first thing you are going to want to do is put your TV on top ... Hahahahah.-E
Digital Interface
I'm not clear what you have right now. How is the DAC connected?  If you are using a laptop, be aware those wall warts add a lot of noise to the AC. If it sounds better on battery power, you should definitely consider an isolator.  Best,E
Which in the $500 and under range that. can accurately cover different fQ spectrum
As for portable, how about the LG V30 ? I own the Fiio X3 and a separate portable amp. I think the V30 sounds as good.Neither sound as good as the pono though. The output stage in those, by Ayre, was phenomenal.
Krell 4k Foundation or Parasound jc2 Preamps
- just to clarify, he was talking about preamps only (Parasound JC2 was one of his options). He has stated that he already owns Parasound Halo amplifiers, lol@auxinput See, this is why most of my advice is garbage and completely untrustworthy!
Krell 4k Foundation or Parasound jc2 Preamps
I don't know about transparency but every Parasound Halo amp I have heard were warm, powerful, quiet, extended and not at all analytical. I've only heard old Krell. Those always struck me as pretty cold sounding amps by comparison.Best,Erik
Room treatments- Piega C10 Ltds
+1 GIK AcousticsReally inexpensive products which are very effective and good looking. Good advice, and I think they just put out a 3D room acoustics tool. Best,Erik
Seal a ported sub?
Sean, only for the sub. :) That's how I run. It's marvelous. OR you get a digital domain crossover, and then feed a pair of DAC's. :)
Seal a ported sub?
Tute : Funny thing. Yes. sealing a ported speaker will raise the -3dB point, in an anechoic room, but that may also help the speaker integrate better. The lower you go, the more likely you are to run into room modes. Also, sealed speakers have les...
Audio as a weapon
@geoffkait It may have been a writer who was not writing for Audio during WWII, but who did write for them later. I used to be a subscriber to Audio and I believe it is in this magazine that I read the story.Yes, his idea was describing sonar, but...
