LUXMAN L509X VS M700/C700U +1 on borrowing / listening for yourself. I stand by my recommendations, based on where the OP is starting from, but I also think the OP's wallet and ears matter more than mine. :D
List your state of art headphones for smart phone use! Since this came up separately I wanted to share my own experience with the Master & Dynamics. I owned the MH40’s for 2 days before sending them back. I never send stuff back. Even the FH5’s which I am still upset at myself for buying I didn’t ...
List your state of art headphones for smart phone use! Well Hello @don_c55 EricAssuming you were replying to me, my name is spelled Erik. It’s right there in front of you. Bluetooth is not even CD quality!Bluetooth has come a long way, and the sampling rate and bit depth are not NOT the only or main ...
LUXMAN L509X VS M700/C700U If the OP had started with a Luman SS Pre and wanted to go something to soften the highs, I'd completely agree, go tubes. However, the OP is starting with an Oppo HA-1 which, IMHO, is awful. If he can listen to that, then going to the Luxman will b...
$40,000: What 2-channel system would you build? Based on the last show I went to in Long Beach the only system I heard in this price range I would buy would be Vandersteens with their own amps. I don't remember the pre they used, but I really like CAT. Sorry, the rooms were mostly crap, and the...
Need to figure out how to troubleshoot You ask a tech to look at it. :) And yes, it's easily fixable, but if you are going to spend the money and time, and the amp is decades old, you probably want to have a comple re-capping done.
List your state of art headphones for smart phone use! I have the Fiio FH5 and have used it with two different portable amps. The Hifiman wireless spanks it in all ways.
LUXMAN L509X VS M700/C700U I think the C700 will be transformative.
LUXMAN L509X VS M700/C700U UM, I'm not sure if I'm the right person to answer you, since you have two components I find pretty bright, the Triangle and Oppo. The Luxman's are wonderfully extended and smooth with nothing to prove. They are considerably less laid back than so...
List your state of art headphones for smart phone use! I just got the Hifiman TWS600https://amzn.to/2O1b40EReally amazingly transparent mid-treble. The bass was non-existent at first but has started to fill in. Very comfortable. I've tried the Fiio FH5, and these are hugely better in fit and sound. No...
Need to figure out how to troubleshoot It sounds like you have bad caps in your amp.
Integrated amps with: multi channels + DSP + phono stage? Hey Cosmic,I’ve kind of been looking at your threads. I’m going to give you advice I’m sure you won’t take.Rather than try and treat your speakers like some sort of board game, you need to invest in your tactile and auditory learning. In other wor...
Speaker toe in Not just toe-in. Tilt-back. My speaker soul-brother, Troels Gravesen, and I have both found that sometimes when we design a speaker to be listened with the ear at tweeter height the best place to listen ends up being a little between it and the mi...
Speaker toe in When your room is firing on all cylinders the best toe-in is no toe-in. This is so incredibly speaker dependent. As for imaging, I find that toe-in affects whether musical instruments appear in a continuous range from speaker to speaker. If there ...
Why HiFi manufacturers don't make active crossovers anymore? Bryston still lists a crossover on their website. |
