Stuck at home? Make a kit!!
My message here is:"The more of you who actually build things, the more informed the opinions of the community become." But kudos to those of you who read my every post and save them for use later. It is a level of enjoyment knowing my words are f...
Accuphase Class D, Digital Power Amplifier from 2005.
Class D is not, usually digital.  :) It acutally uses a cool oscilator to crate a switching signal which is then filtered. The latest Technics amps though, they come terribly close! Outstanding news that Accuphase is dipping their toes in with an ...
Stuck at home? Make a kit!!
Here we go again with the diy I don’t know if you noticed, but my last thread on this was pretty popular. Also, you know what DIY audiophiles are? Builders. People who have learned and have first hand knowledge of the building experience. We need...
Magico A3 vs Magico S1 MK2
OP - I think, honestly, that’s more accurate pricing. The S1 was always, in my mind, overpriced.Mind you, i’m not saying it sounded bad, but for reasons above, I find it a curious animal. If you like the sound of it, and have lots of power, and sp...
Goldmund, not much inside, but ultra expensive.
I'm not usually a big fan of judging by parts but.....Based on what I'm seeing, the heat sinks are entirely for show. The amplifier board appears repurposed from perhaps a powered speaker. Have you heard Luxmans? :) Best,E
Reducing Humming Sound
I would say first, see if you can damp it by holding a panel firmly, if so, mass is your friend. :)
Magico A3 vs Magico S1 MK2
Oh, forgot to mention, the stereo imaging with the S1, on and off axis is outstanding. If the A3 can give you all of that, taking up similar amounts of space, with less demands on an amp, and more bass, it's hard not to go that way.
Magico A3 vs Magico S1 MK2
They have a very wide dispersion, so in either case, you need a lot of space or good treated room. To me, they all sound a little chesty, with a little extra resonance in the bottom of female voices and piano.  No one else I've talked to has hear...
Class D is just Dandy!
The operating principle of a class D amplifier is that it uses a filter to eliminate the switching waveform from the output. In this manner Class D shares the function of the filter used at the output of the Berning amplifiers. In either case, th...
Class D is just Dandy!
Guys, The admins keep removing posts of mine which are factual and impersonal. So I’m going to keep posting smaller and smaller posts to see what exactly it is they are objecting to.
Class D is just Dandy!
@georgehifi All your three basic arguments have been debunked repeatedly. You've yet to convince anyone. Is there anything you have to say, or is it all just george on repeat? Erik
Class D is just Dandy!
Hey @georgehifi Remember this: That's fine, you don't have to like Class D amps, and if you don't please go participate on one of those threads. I'm curious why you'd want to participate in this thread, with exactly the same 3 arguments you've ma...
Class D is just Dandy!
Hi @georgehifi It is not appropriate to use an oscilloscope to measure the audibility of signals. If you are having trouble using one, I suggest going to an electronics forum to help ensure you are using it correctly, and are not connecting it in ...
Class D is just Dandy!
George,You've repeated the same 2-3 points on this thread, over a dozen times, with basically the same set of logical debunking happening immediately afterwards. Are you offended if I ask you to go make your own thread to bash Class D? Thanks,Erik
Class D is just Dandy!
George, How many of my factual  posts are you going to report?? Erik
