Vivaldi, played badly, is the worst classical music on earth
Yes, please replace "classical" with "western art music" to be more clear.
So many drivers.....better sound or just more sound?
I'm just going to kind of throw out some things in the hopes of spurring your interest and to tell you that there's more to a speaker than shopping for drivers. Each speaker designer is focusing on answering different problems. Hope you contin...
Class D is just Dandy!
Really, after having had this same exact discussion for a year or two we need to rehash it a millionth time?   Yes..... but this time it's a lot quieter somehow.

But what I mean is, there's a lot of other composers (checks, yes, I meant composer) whom I seem to tolerate a wide range of performances. I can't really tell what a great performance is vs. mediocre.I can't even really tell you why Vivaldi record...

Gaaaah!!! Yes, of course I meant conductor. I have my headphones on listening to doctors on MSNBC discuss when to run to the hospital.  Sorry!

but replace my simple little single ended tube amp? First, @wolf_garcia , I applaud you for being willing to expose your audio quirks without fear. I wish I had that kind of personal courage. ;-) But that’s just it. If you love the LP sound, only...
Sony HAP-ZIES HDD player is it only 16bit 320kbps native playback ?
Oh, one thing, USB handshaking/driver issues may prevent the streamer from recognizing the DAC. Sadly, USB audio support is weird. It's not universal like S/PDIF.
What should I choose??
If memory serves (and it is not perfect) the big difference in the 802 series was in the bass. If you are happy with that, and only want to make things better, I strongly encourage you to leave them alone, and invest in room acoustics if you haven...

You might want to see here:https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/124268-dahlquist-dq-10/As for age, no, film caps don't break down.  As for quality... I'd replace the film caps and the resistors. I'd also carefully replace the electrolyti...
You could work for any manufacturer, past or present...
@artemus_5 Wow!! Talk about feeling out of place Please don’t make this weird. ;-) We just talk mostly about hardware on this forum, so if you think of a car forum, I’d love to work for Ferrari in the early days. That’s why we got here. If you wan...

Whether a designer takes advantage of this fact is another matter but generally speaking GaNFET amps should sound better as they have less distortion on that account. @atmasphere As you are well aware, I’m kind of touching on an issue of specmans...
Luxman m-900u owners - quick question
@keithr Was this the 2 way YG with the cap in the bass? If so, yeah, I imagine a high impedance (i.e. tube) may work really well for you. ;)

Check the player settings. It may be set to limit the output.

Personally, I think it's a horrible thing to price out a product based on component costs. I think everyone would be horrified if we did this consistently across audio. There's more to a high frequency design than the cost of the transistors. PCB ...
Extra power or cleaner power?
@atmasphere If you've ever taken any apart, I'd be curious to know what you found, in private. :)
