Halcyonics under my tt. Wow
No. I end an email to Herzan asking about the retail for TS-140, but never got any reply.BTW - does Micro 40 has auto leveling feature ? The Silencer has to be readjusted every time you put a different component on it (for different weight).

Krell FPB400cx coupling capacitors question
I have ARC Ref 3. I have once called Krell and they told me that it is OK to run ARC gear without the caps.

Audio Research Ref 110 vs. ARC HD220
To my ears, Ref 110 excells at microdynamics, purity of tone, Resolution, HF extension and air, soundstage depth and image bloom and musiacal flow. HD220 has more bass slam and articulation + better macrodynamics.

I got mine for $200 from Andy from Vintage Tube Services. Tube World also carries them, although they went considerably up in price recently.

Marco_esposito - 2800h is indeed a bit too much for the 6550 in Ref 3. If you are about to change 6550 tube, I would strongly suggest trying NOS TungSol 6550 tube. The improvement is very substantial. It brought my Ref 3 to another level sonicly. ...
Audio Research Reference CD-7
Viper_z - Branimir always have had CD-7 in his second (all ARC) system. He has Esoteric in his main rig.I have bought CD-7 myself, after auditioning a dosen of different players in the 8-20k range. IMO this player is a gem. Requires an awful lot o...
ANYONE heard the old 1957 ge 6550,s
I have had much success with original 1950s NOS TunSol Black Plate 6550 tube that I fitted into my ARC Ref 3 power supply. So I'm also a convert, so to speak.Too bad Black Plates run upwards $500 for a single tube nowadays !
Audio Research REF 3
Arcl60 - you should go an extra mile and get NOS TungSol Black Plate 6550 tube. The improvement is not trivial, and much, much greater than what can be acheived by putting DR tubes (I have both DRs and NOS 6550 in my Ref 3).We discussed it over he...
Help needed regarding purchase of Amp Stands.
I have been using Finite Elemente Pagode Master Reference amp stands with excellent results. Those, with GPA, SRA and Critical Mass are the top tier in amp stands.
class d
There was a really bad review of various class-D/T amps in TAS. It is available online now, BTW. Having heard/owned some of those amps, I can only say, that I fully agree with their conclusions.
Proac D38, Wilson Sophia II, Avalon Ascendant???
Building a speaker is much more than just putting a bunch of speakers together in a DIY box.I have heard a ton of DIY speakers, many of them using state of the art drive units, and most of the time was very disapointed.
