Favorite Live Concert Recordings
Spoonful from Cream's Wheels of Fire. Some of the fiercest, most inspired solos Clapton ever wrought. The band rocks, but most of all it rolls.
Who is ditching their shiny disc spinners?
What can I say? I like to wander over to my CD/SACD rack and ponder what I might want to listen to. The same goes with my LP shelves & boxes of singles. I just find it easier to stroll through physical media than to squint at a website.  By th...
CD Quality Versus Streaming Quality
@georgehifi -- I wouldn't worry about the future. The audiophile community is notoriously well-heeled. If there's a buck to be made, there'll be a way. We gotta remember, too, that analogue and vinyl were supposedly headed straight to the dust heap.
Can we talk about Qobuz for a minute
@reidfleming -- Yeah! Qobuz is the proverbial Aladdin's Cave. Happy listening. I also give you special dispensation to ignore the Spelling Police.
what happens if you record a type I cassette on type II setting, and vice versa?
After delving into the deepest recesses of my memory, I remember the differences being almost entirely that of EQ and Tape Hiss. And oh yeah...  Go back to the proper settings if acrid smoke begins to waft.............
Singer Songwriters Rarely Mentioned By Audiophiles
sns -- your post is the proverbial trip down memory lane for me. Or is that my LP collection? Bridget St. John!  Dandelion Records. Did I see her at a near empty Troubadour?
CD Quality Versus Streaming Quality
I'm one of those tone deaf doofuses who actually often prefers streamed versions of selections over my original (but not always first issue) LPs & CDs. In any case, more often than not there's enough difference between my originals and the str...
I am no longer getting MQA?
I kind of get a kick out of all the hostility there is on this site regarding MQA. I tried it. I liked it. It did allow me to wrest a bit more SQ from Tidal. The trouble was, I found that standard issue Qobuz gave me better fidelity than Tidal eve...
Can we talk about Qobuz for a minute
I've found that sound quality is generally more dependent on the source material than on the hardware that delivers it to me. And that if the music itself is compelling enough, my zeal for experiencing the best sound quality becomes just that litt...
What Integrated Amp do You use
I love my PrimaLuna Prologue One. Tone. Imaging. Lack of fuss. Yeah, it's given me trouble a couple times over the years.  Tubes can fail and I occasionally must clean the pots.  Another part, I can't remember what, failed as well. But all told it...

Just moments ago, I was able to bring up my virtual system picture.
LYRA DELOS IS AMAZING!!!!
Yeah, I'll probably come off as a tin-eared Audiogon fanboy with this post, but I'm currently digging the heck out of my Nancy Wilson/Cannonball Adderley LP spinning beneath my Delos.
why is the right channel on my cassette deck inaudible?
Chances are better than even that a connection became iffy inside your probably now prehistoric cassette deck. If you're not good with a soldering gun, track down somebody that does electronic repair in town.
What are the current useless terms in this "audio world"
@millercarbon -- I've auditioned every car I ever bought. They call it a test drive. It's always nice to know if the seat is comfortable, you can see out of it, and if the controls...as they used to say...fall readily to hand.
WHAT SONG TOUCHES YOUR HEART THE MOST?
@philjolet -- The Star Spangled Banner is one of my favorite tunes. Rousing and filled with heart. It truly gets a bad rap. It just really helps if it is played straight-up and briskly, without dramatic pauses at every phrase. It's one of my go-to...
