Einstein Turntable's Choice vs EAR 834P + MC4
" My experience was also that the Koetsu and 834P alone are not a good match, mostly because the loading of the internal transformer and the Rosewood are not a good match, and the internal transformer is of only average quality." Nice to see you h...
Einstein Turntable's Choice vs EAR 834P + MC4
I have heard the Einstein in my system and it is a very nice sounding SS unit. I thought it was a little too intense sounding and has no magic - hard to explain easy to know when you hear it. While that was quite exciting it also got a little tiri...
Simple TT isolation.....nice sounding result
Hi PeterI am not going to debate whether the Symposium isolates low frequency footfall, clearly as I have found and you have confirmed, it does not. That is a pity as most of the reviews and even your web site is not clear on that premise and give...
Raven One Motor Noise Problem
Personally I removed the OEM stillpoint feet from my raven ac-3 and use the standard rubber feet. the rubber feet are a little more compliant with noise/freefall etc and IMO sound more natural - slightly more bass weight.cheers
Simple TT isolation.....nice sounding result
AdamYou are not imagining anything. I had some freefall issues with my Raven AC3 and that sits on top of a Symposium Ultra. The Symposium Ultra does absolutely nothing in isolating a turntable. I too have put about 10 or so Vibrapods under the Ult...
the most underrated 33 1/3 in history?

Powerful Tube Amp for SF Strads?
Hi Lloyd IMO, just leave the Gryphon in full class A. Sounds better that way and living in the UK, you always need a heater :-) cheers
A question for Graham owners
Kipdent, I am with the other posters here I bought a Phantom about 6 months ago to go with my TW AC-3 and aligned using the Graham jig. I had been using 12 inch arms before that with my HRX so I think I may have got a little lazy as they do track ...
Audio Research or Conrad Johnson Tube Pre-Amp???
Onemug The couple of folks I have spoken to have all said the upgrade truely is an upgrade with no downside, however as you said it is an expensive upgrade which you cannot go back. I am like you at the moment and swap with my Mac pre amp if the m...
Audio Research or Conrad Johnson Tube Pre-Amp???
Onemug Are you going to upgrade the ART to series 3, or happy where you are at now?. me I am debating as the upgrade is a considerable sum and don't want to loose the magic. I believe the ACT2 series 2 is a lot better than the original. Even Lew f...
Linn LP-12 compared to TW Acustic, SME, Nottingham
I own the LP12, cirkus/Lingo with Naim ARO arm. It is a great sounding turntable, however my VPI HRX and TW AC-3 are superior. The most noticable area is in the scale of the music. the Linn is just smaller in every way, where the VPI and TW are bo...

Lloyd Don't try to lift the Antileon alone!! they are very heavy. congrat's on your choice. As a wise man once said - "There is no best, only best for you "enjoy and let us know your longer term thoughts, ie do you still need the subs after you h...
Audio Research or Conrad Johnson Tube Pre-Amp???
Stanwal - you are a funny guy - not why don't you keep your mouth shut and give your opinion when you have actually heard something you are dribbling on about, rather than relying on reviewer numbering systems. Martin Colloms is a professional hif...
Lyngdorf RP-1 Room Correction Device, opinions pls
I used one at home last year. It works and works quite well, however you can only used the pre configured eq's that Lyngdorf give you. If you don't like them tuff. I found one of the eq's was quite good, howeverthe upper frequencies were still a l...
