Powerful Tube Amp for SF Strads? No Lloyd, I did not get to listen to the LP 275. Frankly due to the dealer not being able to offer any trade in, I am not able to afford the luxury. I am not even sure he has one. I am sure monoblocking the MV60 will definately be better, only use...
Powerful Tube Amp for SF Strads? Microstrip - I owned the cj prem 350 and I own the ART, even then it does not have the mids and upper frequency finese and roundness. Lloyd, try not to have my comments at all sway you one way or the other - but very interested in your view's. Any...
Periphery Record Rings I have used the VPI HRX outer ring for 6 years. As ong as you are careful and use the cueing device you will have no problems. After all how many times to you miss the platter completely?? You have a lot more potential issues when setting up a car...
Cary SLP98 phono I owned the SLP98P for a while. the line stage is superb. The phono stage was shit. Bright and strigent, totally opposite to the line stage. Stick with what you have if you are happy with your system now.
Anyone own a Pioneer Exclusive P3 ?? Nah, pulled out unfortunately Due to the $AUS being in the toilet, what was a good deal 3 months ago, was just a bit risky at this time. I am looking at buying some cheaper tables to play with locally as my 2nd/3rd tables. Yamaha Px-3 and/or Micro...

Powerful Tube Amp for SF Strads? I have just spent a great week living with the Gryphon Colosseum. This is easily the best SS amplifier I have ever heard and light years ahead of the next expensive Levinson 33H's I heard a while back. I guess real class A is where the musical act...
Powerful Tube Amp for SF Strads? Lloyd. I like darker/warmer better than cleaner, more transparent so you are making me lean much more towards Antileon. You can still buy the Antileon in the Gryphon range ?
Powerful Tube Amp for SF Strads? Lloyd - what is the latest in the amp serach ?? I saw in the flesh the Gryphon Colosseum and it was gorgeous!! perfect match for my Strad's, aesthetically at least - same slim Strad shape trying to get to listen to it next week at home if the deal...

Lustre GST-801 as 2nd Arm for Raven One? I believe Raul has two of them and likes them. With the ability for two arms on the raven, you should at least try it as your 2nd arm. Won't cost you anything except for the arm disk insert.
Kuzma Stabi Ref/Stogi Ref vs TW Acustic Raven One The Ortofon AS309 is a very good arm period. For the price it is exceptional. It is more relaxed sounding than the Phantom, however the Phantom does have slightly better dynamics and VTA adjustment and a lot more expensive. The great thing about t...
In over my head Agree with a couple of the posters hereSince you like rock - the denon 103 or 103r should go well with the Gyro/SME combo.
Vibraplane vs. Minus k for Turntables Any updates on the Minus K or Halcyonics platforms?. I have a similar problem to Dgad, except that nothing happens to my needle, just a low frequency feedback sound if I stamp down close to the turntables. I might go Dgad's much cheaper route, as ...
McIntosh C220 C2200 C2300 differences? IMO the c2300 is the superior music maker compared to the c2200. The c2300 bass is quicker and better defined and top to bottom it has better coherence without any frequency bulges. The c2200 has a definate peak in the upper mids/lower treble whic... |
