Will a Conrad Johnson fan like Modwright LS 36.5 Hi Artemus No, I did not mean the other way round. the prem 16 is definately IMO the better pre amp at musical enjoyment than the CT5. you will notice that cj have dumped the 6H30 tube and gone back to 6922 for their new GAT pre amp. Alah ART/prem...
cj Premier 11 capacitor upgrade I have recently had my prem 8a's upgraded with cj's teflon caps. added transparency, a little quieter and overall a more sophisticated musical presentation highly recommended.
Will a Conrad Johnson fan like Modwright LS 36.5 Wait for a cj prem 16 to come up. It is a wonderful pre amp and competitive with anything. I much prefer the sound to the CT5 which is a little hifi sounding in comparison. BTW, if you want a cj ART1, let me know as I might be selling mine soon as...
opinions about Myiajima Shilabe I have had the Shilabe in the system for about a month now on loan from one of my audio buddies. The Shilabe will polarise views much like the differences in the reviews done by Martin Colloms in hifi critic and Jerry on 10 audio. Anyway, my thoug...
Da Vinci AAS Gabriel Thuchan, Dertonarm - it seems neither of you have any idea of any current platform that isolates the TW AC3 and its 3 individual motors. Are you living in fairy land? Of course if it is a problem at all, which I doubt as the motors are very quiet
Da Vinci AAS Gabriel Dertonarm How would you actually be able to place the Raven AC turntable on a vibraplane (or any isolation platform) and place the 3 motors not on the isolation platform?. Considering each motor is a matter of 5 mm's away from the table and inside...
Da Vinci AAS Gabriel You could always upgrade your TW AC-3 to the black Knight? What are you finding that your AC-3 is not giving you?cheers
Grado Statement cartridges - load at 47km or lower Raul, The MM stage would not have enough gain for the 0.5mv Grado. I don't have one, just wondering if I can use my MC stage if I did get one. cheers
Wilson Maxx 2 vs Sonus Faber Stradivari Hi Spatine Unfortunately what you have heard in your hifi shop trip is typical of the " hit & miss" affair of listening to systems at shops. Sometimes you get the great sound, sometimes you don't. I own Strad's and run them with both Mac tube ...
Grado Statement cartridges - load at 47km or lower thanks Bob, that's what I was looking to hear. You can use your MC phono stage and use lower than 47k. Raul, running the ADC into MM stage at 47k. Sounds great, abeit different to MC sound. however been off sick for the last week so not listening ...
Grado Statement cartridges - load at 47km or lower Yes. Lots of normal MC inputs do not have 47K loading including mine, hence the question.
Tube sound Comes, mainly, from? Pre or Power? I would agree with most of the gentlemen here and state that IMO the amplifier leaves the most sonic influence to the sound. If you like tubes stay with a tube amp as in my experience there are no SS amps that sound like tube amps.cheers
CJ GAT Preamp VS ART 3 which one is the best? Hi Frank Yea I put Lew into a difficult position when I asked which sounded better, as cj is also in the business of selling new products. From talking to Lew it seemed that the new GAT is the best design they can make from one chassis, as the ART...
CJ GAT Preamp VS ART 3 which one is the best? Of course any dealer is going to say newer is better - he needs to make a living. I have hade my cj ART3 for about 5 weeks now and I asked Lew at cj his thoughts of the GAT were before I bought the ART3. One main difference was that the GAT has SS...
Comparison of ARC Ref3 and C-J CT5 If you can find a cj ART on audiogon - definately go for it. A big step up the musical enjoyment ladder from CT5 or both ACT2's. I have just upgraded from Art 1 to Art 3 and could not be happier |
