If Power Cords Don't Matter... Waste of life trying to convince people who have an aversion to spending money on trying things.
Power conditioner some say yes and some say no. I have never found any power conditioner to be wondrous. The ones I have used - and they ALL claim not to harm the signal - are as deleterious as beneficial. I don't find the idea of a whole system conditioner too appealing. I have found upgraded ...
If Power Cords Don't Matter... We will always have half the audiophile community who build poor systems. The cable skeptics do so brilliantly.
If Power Cords Don't Matter... danager, congratulations on trying; it makes all the difference. :) Just wait until you work up the nerve to try a comparison of sets. I suspect you will be scratching your head for a long time about that. Power cords - gliderSets - rocket prope...
T+A Solitaire CWT 1000-40 Carbon Anniversary Series Speakers. Galen, nice to see you enthusiasm for the speakers here! I know that when I was engaged in the review of the SPTPC top level Iconoclast Cables, you raved about the speakers. It appears the joy has not diminished. Kudos on attainment of your dream ...
RMAF 2021 Cancelled The pinnacle is precipitous; narrow, steep fall from the top. The past year was the climax, and now the denouement.
Should a high end system be flexible, or demanding? cleeds, yes, I do have actual evidence of my claim. First, I have built hundreds of audio systems from extreme budget on the low end of a couple thousand dollars up to HiFi at the $100K mark. In reviewing I compare such systems continuously, and i...
Should a high end system be flexible, or demanding? An audio system that cannot play all music, all recordings superbly, is not much of a high end system. There are fundamental weaknesses, shortcomings in a system that cannot sound terrific with all genres of music and all recordings. The fact is th...
And Now, For All You Omni Fanatics Thank you all for the complements, I appreciate them. snapsc, regarding your ultimate question; for a person who values the bulbous soundstage and sense of grandeur above all, I believe the F5 would be very gratifying. Because it has a built in su...
PowerBall Lottery Winner Now for a bit of history on Powerball. Years ago, sales were lagging; it seemed that the 80M/1 odds of 1 ticket winning (roughly the odds of being struck by lightning - twice) could produce only so high a jackpot. People were getting numb to 3-5 m...
3 Way Stand Mount Speakers That's a pretty dicey way to assess speakers, by Youtube vids. Like trying to assess how a car drives from a commercial. I am appreciating the Wharfedale Opus 2-M2 Speakers that I furtively longed for over the past several years. Finally spied a p...
Speaker Cables? why all the hype for expensive speaker wire? Assessment of cables without working with entire sets is playing at it and a waste of time, that is, if the goal is to actually move a system toward a directed goal of improved sound. That is why such misinformation as cables being system dependen...
How I Beat the System to Nab an Unbeatable System And, now that you have gone to all that trouble to beat the system, the system beats you. Read my review of the Legacy Audio i.V4 Ultra Amplifier at Dagogo.com Only a direct comparison would tell which is preferred, but I would put my money on the...
When are people going to wake up and realize listening is a skill? Some budget audiophiles and builders of average systems need to think they have advanced listening skills. They make a low to average rig, yet they want to pretend it's close to SOTA. Since they can't compete - for them it has to be a form of co...
Welcome Back! I know they show up rarely. This was one of the few older speaker I kept my eyes open to find, again, only because of the soft dome mid. There's plenty of alternatives in other genres floating about. |
