Anyone Listen Extensively To V1 Of The Musical Fidelity Nu Vista Vinyl Phono Stage?
@neonknight I may experiment with the SUT later, but so far I’m using it ’straight’ as in the photo. I liked the Quad 24p and SUT for the warmth of the combo. The NuVista is also Rubenesque but not so much so as the Quad. Of the four cartridges...

And I just did. I'll give it a month and decide, but so far, so good!
My Analog Journey - Opinions Sought
@dogberry I am first and foremost a music fan. I didn't realize this was an exclusive group. I was just excited to share my experience.  @audionoobie I wasn't referring to you! You are more than welcome here.

I should give mine another chance. Maybe make some heads explode by using it with an SUT!

Funny how streaming fans like to hang around here. Perhaps they think they are missing something... I have to add the obvious comment: there are recordings so good that they stand out almost whatever you play them on. But if you know that recordi...

I have a NuVista Vinyl MkI, and do appreciate the options. It reveals details that other phono stages have not, but there is one thing to be very careful with - switch it off before plugging in or disconnecting the inputs! Doing so with the power ...
I'm new to Step Up Transformers
I have two low-output MI cartridges, one of 0.4mV output, which requires an MC input or external SUT, and the other with 1mV output sounds better that way (but could be connected via an MM input and the gain turned way up). I have three ways of d...
Some thoughts on dust covers
Undecillion is also used when penicillin doesn’t work. Here's me remembering spectinomycin 2g IM in that situation!

Some thoughts on dust covers
I'm not qualified to speak on static, but dust I do know about, especially with respect to inhaling it and the allergies it can cause. When you wrote, @lewm , "Shredded skin" does not strike me as an important cause, if it is any cause at all, o...
HumminGuru vs.Degritter
That was the original. The Nova model has a more powerful fan and can do either 3 or 6 minutes drying.
HumminGuru vs.Degritter
@larsman The Humminguru has the option of 5 or 10 minutes drying time. The Degritter offers a lot more, but costs several times as much. You have to decide whether the capabilities are worth the increased price. I bought the Degritter as the Humm...
What should I look for when purchasing a quality album?
I think the first step is to identify the piece of music you want to acquire, and if it's classical figure out which recording is the one you want (that's a musical issue, not an audiophile one). If not classical, there may only be one original re...
Rumbly feedback
I have used tonearm pods and each was mounted on three spikes to minimise transmission of vibration. Though when you mention it happens with the Wand but not the Brinkmann, it makes me wonder if it isn't simply the fault of the pod/pedestal, but s...
Soundsmith Sussurro MkII or Dyna DRT-XV-1s
I like the Sussurro MkII ES, and would consider a Hyperion if and when the time comes. It's not as pleasing to me as the London Reference, but more so than the LP-S. The XV-1s I have no experience with.
