Love to join you, but Zurich is a long way off........
Rhythm and harmony in music
Greg, interesting point you make. Rythm could be likened to raw love making, PRAT to eros in general. One cannot do without the other.
MIT Love 'em or Hate 'em
LOL, will do ASA, thanks for your thoughts on P. Can't say much, know too little, but seems to make sense what you say. The musicality thread has yet to be born, too busy still writing up reports on all sorts of people to make some money to buy ex...
MIT Love 'em or Hate 'em
Asa, admirable analysis. A joy to read and not to fault as far as I can see. Old Krusty is good for something afterall. A question: Don't know Kuhn, but did Popper REALLY live up to what he preached there? Cheers,
Need help - Set up Helikon using test LP
Excellent suggestion, Isbail! Happened to me as well once, should have thought of that!
Need help - Set up Helikon using test LP
Why not get a straight tracking arm like the old Souther or one from the Clearaudio folks and forget about antiskating? Much easier to set up too and you're listening to the LP the way it was cut. Just an idea....Cheers,
Rhythm and harmony in music
Why difficult to separate? Rythm goes straight to the body, harmony to the soul, if you like. You can have harmoneous and unharmoneous rythm and rhythmic as well as unrythmic harmony. For me both are important and the interplay between those two m...

Zaike, you've got it, begosh. Are you with the CIA? It's him, all of him, including his muleheadedness and his rash temper. Ha!! Always thought, he couldn't be quite real, although I liked what he said about the CAT and the Defy 7, but then, as yo...

MIT Love 'em or Hate 'em
Not quite true uncle K., MIT, as far as their wires for Spectral are concerned, does say what those boxes are for and also Spectral does in their literature....and yes they are highpass filters, because the Spectral stuff is so extremely wide band...

T bone, I'haven't but I'm full of ideas. If I didn't have to write up a lot of other stuff, I would already have come out with them. Will have to wait until the middle of next week. Great and inspiring posts so far, thanks to all of you. Feel in e...
Cable vs. Electronics: biggest bang for the buck
Nrchy, I think the more refined and complex a system gets, every single part of it plays an important role and in the end the whole is certainly more than all its parts. In a system tweaked to the utmost, every little change matters and can be hea...

Cable vs. Electronics: biggest bang for the buck
Dear friends, having always felt a bit uneasy in using this space about discussions on Jung, I want to thank Nrchy and of course also Arnie for lending us their space. I've enjoyed the discussion immensely, learnt from it and felt in excellent com...
Cable vs. Electronics: biggest bang for the buck
Asa, as to Jung and music. I don't know. He probably needed words and concepts, structures to battle with the other side. Words to him were perhaps like the stones and earth and rubble, they use in Holland to capture back land from the ocean. He t...
