Extract vocals or instruments from tracks with AI!
As a amateur guitarist, this is great. I can make any song into one I can play along with. It works much better then what's currently out there.  Anyone who sings will like it as much, although it seems taking vocals out is still the hardest to g...
Bluesound Node X is out
I owned Bluesound, it is good stuff for the money, Glad they upgraded the DAC.
Stoned ice coffee?
Mick must need the money to support a new girlfriend, and Keith for another blood transfusion.  Just joking. It is Kinda sad, but musicians selling their songs for an TV Ad is even worse. I remember a story that they wanted to buy Johnny Cash's "...
G Rated Comments About the Relevance of Pink Floyd’s Animals Album:
Great Album, but it's partly a musical interpretation of Animal Farm by George Orwell, which was published in 1945. Which, as stated on Wikipedia, is based on events of the Spanish Civil war 1936, and the 1917 Russian revolution. So anywhere from ...
Best Forum to hear experienced audiophiles exchange thoughts?
I have tried other sites, for better or worse, this is the best one. I agree with @grislybutter - some people today are just not tolerant of a different opinion and drag a post into the dirt. It took a while, but I have finally learned to move on ...
Surge and Conditioning
I did a lot of research for almost a year and ended up with a Furman 15, they do have a 20 amp one also. You can find them on Amazon. Although I could have spent much more, I have found an improvement without breaking the bank. No current limiting...
Turntable recommendation
Under $500 is not worth it, closer to $1K to start in my opinion. I'd suggest one of the Rega models also, multiple price ranges, they can come complete with a decent cartridge, so no fiddling with set up. Their whole line gets great reviews. Easy...
Does It Hurt....
Nope, not a problem. I did that myself for a while when slowly switching back from a 5.1 to a pure 2 channel.
Experience with Luxman L-550 AXII
I also have the 590AXII with Harbeth 30.2s.  It's warm, but not as warm sounding as Tubes. I actually like that it is a bit more detailed then tubes also. And it's way warmer sounding then Class D of which I have owned many different ones (I'll pr...
Comparing Directstream 1 and 2
@steakster is correct, it takes more then 10 minutes of listening, switch them for a full day of listening or even 3-4 days and then switch back. I also agree that you should at least raise some doubt as to which one you are listening to if you ca...
"But it sounds better at night...."
@macg19  Yep.
"But it sounds better at night...."
Perhaps asking someone who is blind might be the best test of "Is it the darkness or is it the less ambient sound? Might not confirm whether it's less electrical noise, but it would narrow it down a bit. Also, they might not hear any difference at...
Is there a ceiling limit on what you are willing to pay for an audio component?
The limit is, can I hear a worthwhile change for the cash. Sure, I'll hear a different between $5K and $30K speakers, but is it worth 6 times the price? Maybe, maybe not - I have to hear a level of improvement to make it worth it. Also, I wouldn't...
Does a weave of cables really make a difference?
@roxy54  Yep, you're right! Although I try to keep the wires I have organized, I think for me a weave is probably a better description! Thanks for the correction. I appreciate all the info and opinions. I think I'll stick with what I have. There...
Do the Components Match?
Spotify is a rather low end source of music, which could be a big part of why the digital music sounds lifeless. Can you try out Qobuz? You can usually get a free trial period. You might hear the improvement you seek that way. Also, what kind of ...
