Aurender Conductor V4 issues @audphile1 My appologies, I did not pick up that you were being sarcastic. But I stand by my pofessional opinion (30+ years) that they are doing a horrible job with V4. Yes, software upgrades are tough, I've done many. But this is just plain slo...
Aurender Conductor V4 issues @audphile1 Agile works, but you have to have really good management of it. I have recommended to Aurender that they fire their product manager. I have been in IT for 30 plus years and can tell you it's not the process that's broken, it's the peop...
Rogue Audio hard to resell, has it fallen out of favor ? @speedthrills asks a good question, which I honestly don't have a good answer for. But I will say this, I sold a very old AR turntable in rough condition a year or two back, I did put a low price on it, but was still surprised it sold quickly. I ...
Does a turntable mat make any difference? I replaced the mat that came with my Rega 6 with a Herbie way excellent, it made a positive difference.
Would you buy a pair of speakers by just looking at the measured freq. response? Overall no. It tells nothing how the speaker sounds. Kinda similar to an amp with .0007 THC (oops, I meant THD). Doesn't tell you how the amp sounds at all.
In Wall Speakers recommendations If you like the sound of the B&W's, get their in-wall ones, they also have a matching in-wall sub. A friend of mine has them with a McIntosh integrated and the set-up sounds great. He does not have rear speakers.
Good Speakers for Rock and Roll Under 15K Klipschorns or JBL. KEF is a good suggestion also. Although my personal taste would also recomend a Class D amp rather then tubes. But I know there will be strong disagreement with that comment.....
Selling here on Audiogon I agree with all the above, but I've sold a turntable, amp, preamp and a server and sold them quickly as I put fair prices on them with detailed descriptions. And they were popular brands which also helps. Although it is annoying how many deale...
Integrateds: Luxman vs. Ayre? @ghdprentice Interesting. I like the 'sparkle' that Luxman has. Although I rarely listen to 'heavy' rock and roll, when I do, I have found some amps to be dull sounding. The Luxman sounds wonderful with every type of music, is what I am trying t...
Finally got a Luxman I've had the Luxman 590 AXII for 2 years now and love it. I've been through almost every brand and even went separates twice. I have never been happier, lots of features, sound that is tube like without the heat and hassle, I can go on. I am sure ...
Anyone listen to Music on a FM tuner anymore? @Table jockey Wow, that REL is beautiful! The other Turners are super nice also. It does bring back memories of a Marantz Receiver I had in the 80's. Thanks everyone for your replies. I think I'll continue to live without a Tuner for now. Dead...
New mat for Rega P6? Thanks everyone OP here and I went with the Herbie's made for the Rega 6. It solved the problem 100%. I am still trying it out to see if it made a difference in sound. So far I haven't heard a difference I can say for sure. Maybe it needs more bre...
Question/Help Needed: Boomer who is totally inexperienced with DACs and streamers. As a boomer who wanted to do the same thing as you a few years back. I went with a Bluesound. It was easy to set-up and understand, the software is solid, their help desk is great, and the quality was well worth the price. This all helped me to ge...
Roon Aquisition: Will This Help Or Hamper? Also, they will make software improvements to their hardware before anyone else's. And there might be features only avaible to their hardware. They will definately charge more for more features above their so called 'life-time' software plan.
