Opinion on Nakamichi azimuth tape decks please Manual azimuth is not that hard to use but I do think that the Dragon is the only Nak with auto, not sure of any others.
Clearaudio stylus life I have not, I have not used but have admired Clearaudio cartridges. I would not be surprised at the 2000hrs. though. Looking at thier web site the MC carts carry a two year warranty alone and I doubt that they would warranty a product until near t...
Amp for Verity Parsifal encore Thanks for the ideas. There are a few amps that I am unfamiliar with and will do some further research. Just what I was hoping to find.
Amp for Verity Parsifal encore Tvad, that is the plan for now, to stick with the belles which is no big sacrafice. I do know that these speakers have more to offer however and sometime next year I will make the next big upgrade. I have thought about a second 150A but if I stay ...
Tube Rolling with MiniMax I am also using RCA 5751 black plates after a lot of searching. I have used the Tung sol 6x4 as well as my current Ratheoyn 6x4. The sound is wonderful. Very airy, detailed, good solid base. I have thought of upgrading my phono stage because I fel...
Speaker cable upgrade recs please I am not sure I can recommend a cable for your system but I can let you know my impression of the heimdall. Though nordost has been associated with being "bright", and the Red Dawn really confirms this, I have not found that to be the case with th...
Verity Parsifal Symposium base thanks for your input, and Frank C, for the detail. My current listening position is a little low so the Symposium Ultra would put the tweeters right at ear level. I have also heard that SRA has made a base to fit between the top and botton unit. ...
SRA Isolation Platform under a Turntable Yes! I ordered an SRA VR3.0 for my Nottingham spacedeck and love it. I did try my nottingham with stillpoints and got increased detail that at times was a bit bright and fatigueing. I tried a maple butcher block, did improve over the standard "pli...
Electrocompaniet CDP Thanks for the suggestion of the NOS DAC. I have not considered a new dac as I am very conservative about adding things to the system but this may be the way to go. I did have a conversation with Red Wine Audio on their Isabellina and that may be ...
Electrocompaniet CDP Dungn, I currently have an Arcam FMJ33. I have heard the FMJ36 in my system, an esoteric, (forget the model, was one of the lower end if that can be applied to esoteric and a universal). These were in my system with the dynaudio special 25's. I ha...
Electrocompaniet CDP Thanks Tvad. But you know, I would like other peoples experience as well. It seems odd that asking other peoples experience would be a problem. I did talk to my dealer, and I also value the experience of people on this site that might have more ex...
Contacting Classic Records / themusic.com I would try contacting the place where you purchased them for a return. I purchase my new LP's from acoustic sounds or music direct and they have been very good about exchanging if I was not satisfied. I also have had similar problems with classic...
Next step after B&W 802D I would also agree with some of the above posts, increased cost is not always an upgrade, as an example Audiofeil seems to like the sound of the Bose 901 which is a much cheaper speaker than the 802D and generally not considered top of the line. D...
Dynaudio Contour S 1.4 vs Special 25? I do not think that the special 25's are bright, they can tend to be a little forward if the upstream is, I think that they are very reveiling. They are very sensitive to set up. I have mine 27" from back wall, no boominess of the bass. Definetley...
Monitor users, isolation? I use Herbies big dots, three each speaker, between my Dynaudio Special 25's and Dynaudio stands. I like them a lot, very stable, sound nice, and I don't have to mar the speaker veneer with the spikes. |
