How to connect monoblocks to a single REL sub with ONE RCA input @hilde45 Is that set up the one suggested by REL? I used that exact set up on my prior ARC stereo tube amp, and it worked fine. I also use that basic set up on my ss balanced stereo amp...although I place the Black to a grounding connection on th...
How to connect monoblocks to a single REL sub with ONE RCA input I was in the same position as you, owning one REL sub and utilizing a mono block tube amp. I realized that the value of having mono blocks is to completely separate the signal from the left and the right speaker, with no possible signal corruption...
Jeff Rowland Daemon – Reviewing The JRDG Superintegrated Flagship Amplifier G. As an ex pro musician, I don't really agree with your analogy between musical instruments and our hi-fi gear. Without doubt a great instrument 'matures' over time, I have experienced this on many occasions myself. OTOH, said instrument does NO...
Jeff Rowland Daemon – Reviewing The JRDG Superintegrated Flagship Amplifier G, I was talking about this very aspect ( lengthy break in times) with my tech. He is a big believer in Teflon caps, which he tells me take on average about 500-600 hrs to break in. I have never felt that it was the consumers job to break in audio...
Jeff Rowland Daemon – Reviewing The JRDG Superintegrated Flagship Amplifier G. That's a VERY long break in time! I am always a little surprised ( that's the only word that comes to mind that I think isn't derogatory) when a component takes hundreds ( thousands??) of hours to 'break in'. I can understand if a component tak...
audiophiles who are just getting the itch to upgrade I would suggest a front end upgrade first. As has been mentioned, the new Karousel bearing would be a nice start. If funds allow, a Radikal, Keel or Kore and then a new tonearm. Front end is where you typically get your biggest bang for the $.
Jeff Rowland Daemon – Reviewing The JRDG Superintegrated Flagship Amplifier G. I am suggesting trying the Daemon into the M925mono's first. Like i said before, the fact that the 925's are a mono block design should give you a nice increase in soundstage imaging and separation. That has always been my experience when I com...
Jeff Rowland Daemon – Reviewing The JRDG Superintegrated Flagship Amplifier G, I would be more interested in the results from you feeding the DAC and the preamp into your 925's. This would likely give you the biggest increase in SQ. Simply because you are now utilizing a dedicated mono block for the amp stage. Feeding you...

Speaker Thoughts - YG Acoustics Hailey 2.2 vs Magico S5 MK II On the thread on the analog forum section titled: Direct Drive vs.Idler Drive vs. Belt Drive Member neonknight posted this: "I am noticing something about you. It appears you are one of these people who believe that your choices are the only corre...
Jeff Rowland Daemon – Reviewing The JRDG Superintegrated Flagship Amplifier G, So that we are clear, I am NOT questioning the pricing of the Daemon or the system that i last heard it in. IF these prices are accepted by the high end audio consumer, then I would say that these meet a market demand, if not...well that speaks...
Speaker Thoughts - YG Acoustics Hailey 2.2 vs Magico S5 MK II @sciencecop thanks for that...very informative and very assumptive. Great post. Sorry my prior post hurt your very tender and sensitive feelings.
Neotech NC-P313 vs. Furutech FI-28 Plugs I think it may help to put this a little into context. IMO, while the Furutech plugs are superior to the Wattgate’s, the Wattgate’s are still a respectable plug and in many cases, depending on the cable and the cable manufacturer’s skill and abili...
Speaker Thoughts - YG Acoustics Hailey 2.2 vs Magico S5 MK II @smodtactical I have heard the Magico M2. I thought it was a little thin sounding, particularly in comparison to other competing speakers in the same price range. The imaging was ok, but again I think it can be bettered by other speakers at or bel...
Direct Drive vs. Idler Drive vs. Belt drive Mike, you brought up an interesting point...better bearings. IME, this is actually what matters more than the drive type. I think this attribute is one of the most overlooked aspects of turntable design, and yet I think it is one of the most impor... |
