Wilson's Chronosonic XVX loudspeaker over 3/4 of a million US dollars
One thing that does strike me as a little strange when it comes to Wilsons...is why it took so very long for Dave W to hear how bad the long utilized Focal Titanium dome was in all of his older designs. Once he changed to the current silk dome, I ...
Where in the US to send my Linn Sondek LP12.
@masi61   The web is full of folks who advise that you try and set up your Linn yourself...its no big deal they claim. Yet in the very same post, they usually state that they moved on from the LP12, as it just wasn't that great sounding a table......
Wilson's Chronosonic XVX loudspeaker over 3/4 of a million US dollars
Wilson markets a number of different speakers at different price points..albeit nothing in the hundreds of dollars ( like some of you would like, lol!) Magnepan has their little LRS speaker at a price point that is at that price...and its a real w...
Wilson's Chronosonic XVX loudspeaker over 3/4 of a million US dollars
@mikelavigne  Let's put it this way, at the forum in question, i had had enough of the non- level playing field that grew there over time. It was clear that the owners had an agenda...and that anyone who was not towing the line with their expectat...
Wilson's Chronosonic XVX loudspeaker over 3/4 of a million US dollars
@mikelavigne Thanks, I have no problem with you either, but you can also push buttons. Neither of us pushes buttons or has ability to push the envelope like the ‘guru’...and I know both of us wouldn’t get away with what he does on that site. Like ...
Wilson's Chronosonic XVX loudspeaker over 3/4 of a million US dollars
@mikelavigne I guess we will have to agree to disagree. The forum in question has some of the worst moderation of any I have ever been on. To that, there seems to be a person ( we both know who he is) that throws as much mud as he wishes...with ab...

@steakster What you stated applies to most of the audio forums these days. On another forum, frequented by horn speaker lovers, anyone who disagrees with their mantra and dares to have another opinion on horn speakers is summarily banned...on this...
Lets talk dedicated lines
@cleeds You bring up a good point...the typical convenience outlet is daisy chained to other outlets...some in different rooms. However, this is pretty easily checked, and in the instance that the daisy chain is only to one other outlet in the sam...
Subwoofer or New Speaker
I use two RELT5i’s in my small room, they can easily over power the room unless they are dialed in with a ton of effort and experimentation. They are excellent subs and augment the bottom end of my mains superbly, and they allow the speakers to so...
Subwoofer high-level connection question
Shouldn't be an issue. I use the same hook up protocol with my ss amp. Both the speaker cables and the high level sub cable are connected to the same posts. You could check with REL, as their customer service is excellent, but i see no problem.
Jadis JA-80: Tubes and speakers.
@mozartfan Don’t get confused that the JA80 and the JA80Mk2 are the same amp! They are not. The JA80Mk2 is designed for the KT150 tube..the original JA80 is not. Same applies for your Defy7. The Defy 7 is NOT designed to utilize the KT150 tube. Ch...
Linn LP12 factory power supply upgrade or 3rd party? Need to do 45’s.
It’s 1450 pounds in the UK, not sure how much in the US.
Linn LP12 factory power supply upgrade or 3rd party? Need to do 45’s.
Depends on your budget. Any of the Lingo models with give you the ability to play 45's. The current Lingo 4 is a great way to go...if it meets the budget. Otherwise, even an old shoe box Lingo would be a nice upgrade, keeping in mind the age and t...
Whats on your turntable tonight?
The Weavers 'reunion at Carnegie Hall" on the Analog Productions reissue. Just an amazing sound and performance. Probably helped by the fact that Doug Sax did the remastering.
What tube tester to test KT150's?
Thanks. That looks very interesting. Anyone actually using one of these?
