Too much power?
I hate audio shows. They all turn up the volume too loud because the next room is so loud and they realize everyone's ears are ringing so they have to turn it up to get through that.  Thus the audition means nothing to me. You are listening at 70...
Advice on Integrated Receiver
Frankly I'd consider new speakers rather than new amp.   These are the standard trendy design, smaller drivers (WAF) and lower sensitivity needing more power.  That said, 80 wpc should be enough unless you're a kid wanting to shake the walls.  Peo...
Reterminating Audioquest Hurricane HC
There is nothing magic about terminating a cable. Just like I don’t like to let some high school drop out work on my Mercedes (I’m talking about the kids that work at the dealership) I much prefer to terminate my own cables. Those who always say ...
Anyone tried Duelund silver foil 3.0 for speaker cable
I have no experience with that conductor (not really a "wire").  I have used the Duelund DCA12GA in my speaker work and very happy with it.     If you'd like a set of speaker cables built with the silver foil, I'd be glad to build them for you a...
Does a higher gauge electrical wire impact voltage level?
@fuzztone  Indeed, the voltage is not important to most ss amps.  however, the noise and other things that challenge your amp to produce quality sound also are likely increased with poor voltage supply. many voltage meters can have a zero offset...
Does a higher gauge electrical wire impact voltage level?
Wire gauge will not affect no-load voltage.  Your reported voltage swings are very large and do not reflect well on your local utility's ability to provide you reliable source of electricity. Voltage swings like this are likely accompanied by oth...

The difference between an Audiophile and a Stereophile?
You're overthinking it.
Has the ASR review/hatchet job on the Musetec MH-DA005 Changed Anyone's Mind?

Streamer/CD ripper
My Innuos Zenith Mk3 rips CDs.  I figure that's what I'll use if I ever want to listen to a CD again.  Haven't used it. Jerry
Candidates for best speakers in the $2000-5000 market
Good comment @bassdude  Even if he stays low power, there are nice upgrades from PL.

Weight is your friend in power. Get someone to help you.   the only way to really get the noise out of AC is to rectiy it and then invert it.  Thus I have a problem with "conditioners".

Are you a form follows function guy or form then function? In the price range you specified, if you insist of beaustiful woodwork and aethetics, you’ll pay over half for cabinetry finished like a 17th century restored antique. If you’re looking fo...
Has the ASR review/hatchet job on the Musetec MH-DA005 Changed Anyone's Mind?
Not familiar with that piece of equipment of an ASR negative review is a badge of honor. I refuse to read any ASR reviews.  They make money from clicks which is why they post such outrageous things.  They make more money from people that disagree...
