Where are the cheap home streamers?
Here are some additional thoughts about the benefits of non-cd digital playback by Robert Harley in which he argues that jitter is higher from CD players than from hard-drive based playback solutions.  Older, but relevant: https://www.theabsolutes...
Control volume with DAC or Preamp?
That audionet gear looks great. I was reading about the amps and may try replicating the independent power supply transformers for each rail in my amps too. I've already got an extra one just sitting unconnected in the power supply as is so it'll ...
Holo Audio May DAC
Ha! Indeed. And it appears that there is significant consensus that the May is better in NOS mode. I'm solely redbook pcm, so the NOS performance was the primary reason I chose the May. When I got my Audio Mirror I had seven different dacs in the ...
Control volume with DAC or Preamp?
Indeed, you, like me and many others, have found that quality preamps do indeed serve their designed purpose. Of course George will tell you that your ears (or components) are wrong. What's important is that future readers understand his bias, and...
Holo Audio May DAC
Well, the boredom associated with social isolation and the threat of dying upon leaving the house finally got me to place an order. Curious to hear how the May compares to my lovely Audio Mirror T3-SE. Twice the price, but who knows in this hobby....
The NAD M33 will cancel your complaints about Class D
I haven't loved my time with class d (lyngdorf tdai-3400), but you've got to keep an open mind. I'd be interested in hearing these, as well as the AGD class d designs: https://agdproduction.com/. Always a shame when people disparage products they ...
Don Sachs DS2 vs Wells Audio Commander
No hum from my DS either (94db speakers with accuton drivers). Sounds like maybe you need to do some troubleshooting. Maybe you've got a small ground loop issue in the system? That's the only time I've heard hum out of my unit.

External DAC for Cambridge CXN (V2) and Sony XA 5400 ES
You might consider just having Modwright upgrade your CXN. Supposedly a great performer when modified.https://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=169517.40http://www.modwright.com/modifications/cambridge-cxn-v2-tube-modification.php
Cube Audio Nenuphar Single Driver Speaker (10 inch) TQWT Enclosure
Great, thanks. I've been following Mike's speaker journey recently, so this is great context.
Control volume with DAC or Preamp?
Just for accuracy... The DS Dac is transformer coupled. You can see it here:https://images.app.goo.gl/oDW85e3k2MKCXJP98

Sounds awesome David. Congrats! Can you remind me what your current 2a3 model is and how the new build differs?
Supratek Owners Thread
Good to see some more comparison reporting @pmburger thanks.
Supratek Owners Thread
@rh67 I'll just note that I heard from one user that they preferred the 6SN7 stage of their Supratek to the DHT one... they had the following to say:  "...you will get the DHT lush sound, such sound although amazing is not my cup of tea for every ...
Where are the cheap home streamers?
@danvignau & @goofyfoot This 6moons review of the PWT opens with almost two pages of technical details about why non-realtime playback of a cd from data storage is superior to the traditional method used in most cd players (which, as you corre...
