KEF LS50 Need Help
Used Spendor SP1/2s or SP 2/3s…just the ticket.
Recommend an Entry Level Turntable
I like my Rega RP1. It's simple, requires no tinkering once set up, and sounds very balanced.

NAD T973 vs NAD 275BEE
You might want to do some research on the T-series in terms of their reliability. I had some repairs done, and the shop got so many of the T's that they eventually refused to work on them.
Solid State to replace Audio Research REF110?
I agree…don't give up on tubes, but go to a different brand that is more reliable and will not blow up on you. I have used Quicksilver amps (no PCBs) since 2006 and have had zero problems with the exception of a bad tube here or there. I had one t...
HELP WANTED Paradigm Monitor series pricing
55-65% of original retail for these speakers in excellent condition is reasonable, but you will need to determine original retail. I have a pair of 3se's, and I can tell you that they are superb sounding speakers. Yes, the Studios are "better," bu...
Thinking About A Change
Never, and I repeat, never purchase speakers blind. This has REGRET written all over it! You know you love your current speakers, and though the Legacy's might (might) have better bass, they also may do something you really do not like.
Integrated tube amp has no bass Cayin A50T
"Not too many tube amps have bass"…please. There are tons of tube amps that have awesome bass. Nicdob, you have a great little amp that is very capable of bass, and I would NOT sell it. Exhaust other options first.
Help ? I don't want to get ripped off
You might want to look at the Bluebook values here on Agon. Most of the pieces you have are pretty rarely seen and/or sold here, but it might be a good start.
Best Christmas music, CD or album on your list ?
Jesse Norman's Christmas CD is just amazing. Great arrangements, great sonics, and well, it's just the best IMO. She captures the "magic" of Christmas like few others I have heard.
R.I.P. Lou Reed
Lou Reed had that "intangible" quality to his performances that only the best artists have. He ranged from silly to shocking and everything in between, but he always makes me want to hear what words will come out of his mouth.
Tony Bennett
Points all well-made. I also concur with the sincerity bit. Sinatra is darn-near perfect, it's spooky, but Bennett's lyric always cuts through and makes you "feel" what he's singing. He also has crazy breath support that I don't think Sinatra had.
tube amps?
Listening to my (new) all QS system now...sounding oh so sweet.
Krell Cipher Issues?
Time for a Cipher refund.
Your first amp?
NAD 7225PE at 16...didn't want another. I still remember how it smelled, and it rocked my old KLH 24s and then my Fried Q5s...those were the days.
