Anyone ever experiment w/ better circuit breakers?
Whatever you do, do not use ground fault breakers which are extremely noisy.
Fuse or braker for dedicated lines?
Still puzzling over this breaker vs. fuse issue & I'm just wondering...Both devices have a buss input contact point & a load output contact point. However the breaker has an extra set of contacts internally (the switch part) that the fuse ...
DAC's Tried with the EAD U2000
Those who are in-the-know are very aware of the Ultradisk2000's capabilities & I agree why mess around with it? But if you're gonna go with an outboard DAC then isn't the U2000 kind of going to waste? I mean wouldn't any decent transport give ...

Best Long-Distance receiving Tuners
You can have a good tube tuner: the MD108. Oops except it's not all tubes, just the audio output stages I believe. I have the MD102, one step down from the 108, but it's still marvelous.
How do Klipschorns compare with modern designs?
Jm I realized that I neglected to answer your stage & image question. Results in that regard are mixed & somewhat confuse me. Depending upon the source equipment & even moreso the associated cabling, I've sometimes had poor staging &am...
Skipping vs. Drop Outs not "High School "
Brad your laser lenz may simply need a cleaning; dust & dirt can build up on the lenz over time & usage. There are lenz cleaning CD's available that have a small brush built in; you follow the simple instructions & it's done in a jiffy...

Most eye-opening upgrade and what you learned
Most ear opening for me was *finally* trying an upgrade AC cord - which for years & years I swore could not possibly change the sound of a system, WRONG! From there it was all downhill & I've become a diehard subjectivist tweaker. Now I ha...
