Your Favorite, Most Outstanding Guitar Solo
Noone has mentioned Andy Latimer from Camel, so I'll suggest "Ice" from the album "I Can See Your House from Here". It's a 10 minute soaring, emotional, and beautiful guitar piece. He's done many, many more through the years.
Whats on your turntable tonight?
I pulled out my old copy of Jade Warrior "Floating Worlds". I don't think I've played it in 20 years. It's got surprising dynamics and a really deep soundstage. Some nice melodies and rythms too.I also scored 3 albums from Modern Jazz Quartet on e...
Tuff question= Banana plug to adapt to Spade ?
LOL! Thanks Ozzy, I think you're the first guy I've impressed this month :-)Glad they work for you.
Totem Model 1 Sig with Sub or Mani 2 without a Sub
I'm using a Rel Storm III with my Mani-2s - just to get that last little bit. It's arguably overkill, and in fact for a lot of music the sub isn't even noticeable (ie I can turn it off and not miss it). Given you already have the Manis, why not bu...
what is the proper protocol
I understand this inclination. I can say that the company with whom I had this transaction has stellar customer service, and is one of the most highly regarded manufacturers in the high end industry. Communication was excellent, and I never had an...
Best sounding floor speaker for under $1500???
Assuming your price threshold is for a new purchase - Totem Sttaf.
Best Rock Drummers
Another for Bill Bruford. 07-21-06: Slaw3I'll listen to ANYTHING Bill Bruford plays. He is so original and outside the box that it's breathtaking. He is one of a few drummers that you can identify his playing inmediately - not many you can say tha...

well. I think I already spent my quota of opinion on this thread, but I think this is worthwhile discussion and need to add a few more . . .Viridian's reference to the FAQ's and the general terms of use of this site is right on. Everyone should ch...
what is the proper protocol
Yea, my statement may have been an exageration. They will accept the initial claim filing, and they certainly need to and do talk with the buyer to assess the damage, but they won't go further than that nor send the money to the buyer. At least th...
Replacement for VSA VR-3?
I have a pair of VR-3's, and I upgraded to VR4 genIIIs. This was a really nice upgrade. I've also heard the VR4jrs and they're also a nice upgrade. The extra bonus of the jr is they're surprisingly compact. Both the gen III and jr have the house s...
what is the proper protocol
Nhtran - I disagree. I suggest you read the contract you enter into with the shippping companies. If you're the sender, you own it, not the receiver. That is the contract is between the Sender and the shipping company (ie UPS, Fedex). They will no...
Tuff question= Banana plug to adapt to Spade ?
The way the Daytons are set up, the inner channel of the compression sleeve is the same size, and it's machined like the banana jack on a 5-way binding post. That is, it's designed to receive a banana plug. It will do no more damage than the banan...
Tuff question= Banana plug to adapt to Spade ?
DAYTON SPCO-GRB COMPRESSION SPADE - these work nicely. The can be used to terminate bare wire, and also banana plugs fit very snuggly into the end. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=091-315
what is the proper protocol
I agree with many statements above. I would refund the buyer's money immediately once the shipping company has determined that the parcel is lost, and has committed to pay the claim. I would likewise expect a refund if I was the buyer. I particula...
Roger Waters remasters?
I agree with Jafox. I have both "Amused to Death", and "Pros and Cons . . ." on CD (Columbia). they're excellent recordings in every way.
