Serious hum problem. Help
I had no luck with the grounding solution you're trying. I had the cable company install a new ground to the service, tested the continuity of the ground, installed another ground wire myself to the cable splitter in my listening room. None of it ...

Small Floor Standers
The only Totems you'll find under $1000 are Sttafs and Arro. Neither is really a rock speaker and they're probably not adequate for your room. If you add a subwoofer (you may be able to get a decent one if you squeeze a little more budget, and buy...
Best New Riders of the Purple Sage recording
I like Gypsy Cowboy best. Then Panama Red. Those are the only 2 I've heard.
Cheap Turntable Protractor
I agree with Dougdeacon. I used the freebie for a while and the work fine. I then bought the Turntable basics protractor which is the cheapest like it that I found and it's worth the $20. Much easier, and more acurate.

Bellari VP129 thoughts/experiences?
It's not listed in Bluebook. I assume that's because Belari is actually a Pro electronics bus, not audiophile. As for the hum problem, I had it big time. I sent it back to them twice, the second time they sent me a new one. I got it and the proble...

Turntable Experts - please help repair speed prob
Chris, thanks for the top re: Teres I looked over their options, and they seem to have a superior motor and controller to Origin Live; the problem for me is it's even pricier than OL's. Since I managed to fix my existing board, the upgrade will ha...
Turntable Experts - please help repair speed prob
Dewald_visser, it looks like you hit the nail on th head. The control board is pretty simple, and there's one 3300uf capacitor on the output drive for the motor. I didn't have an exact replacement so I added a 1000uf (I canibalized it from a car s...
Can the sound of SS amp deteriorate over time??
Some companies recommend re-capping them after 10-15 years. As electrolytics age the amp will become "thin" they say.I'm not sure why this isn't a consistent practice though, unless it's design related.
