When to get your amp up graded caps ???
I have 2 Electron Kinetics amps - one was built in the last 3 years, one is about 10 - 12 years old. The manufacturer (EKSC)advocates recapping after 10 years - insists the amps sound better and operate more reliably. The newer one sounds signific...
Is It Safe To Connect Speakers To Two Amps??
if my primary reason was to protect a quality tube amp in the first place, I definitely would not risk it.

Here's another I like a lot. I search Youtube to find backing tracks to play guitar along with. This one is one of the great all time Jams:Tom Petty and the Heart Breakers - "Melinda"

I always though Cowboy Junkies is one of the best cover bands around (also one of the best Original bands) - here's some evidence:Cowboy Junkies - "Powderfinger"Cowboy Junkies - "One"
Musical Sub to pair with Mani2 Sigs..
I'm using a Rel Storm III and it integrates nicely with my Mani's. . . . incredibly musical . . .The Mani's hardly need a sub. I cross it over at 30Hz, and it covers those deep bass notes only.
amp for totem mani2
I generally agree with Meiwan - most critical is placement some distance into the room. I have mine on a diagonal about 3 ft from the wall - and they're about 7 ft apart (after a good deal of trial and change). I like the target stands - sand fill...
Setting tube bias
have you sent an email to Paul describing this problem? Whenever I corresponded with him I received a reply with "probable cause" explanation from him within hours. I ended up sending min in to him once when it was blowing tubes. He fixed it and a...
Setting tube bias
what they said. No reason a TAD 60 won't bias KT-88s - I had one and switched between EL34s and KT88s now and then without problems, except for when I had a tube go bad.
Flip flopped orchestra?
I do have some records with musicians arranged in really odd manner. Most of these are Jazz LPs. One (I don't recall which - I think it's Bill Evans LP) has the drummer on the far right - beyond the right speaker.
Who was the best jazz guitarist ever?
My favorites include Jim Hall, John Abercrombie, Joe Pass, Django Reinhardt, Philip Catherine, Ralph Towner, Charlie Byrd, George Bensen, Larry Coryell . . . somewhat in order of preference.I also like Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin, and Paco DeLuci...
how do you pick your next music?
mine is mood dependent, which is time of day dependent. Sometimes I will decide to look for something I haven't played in a long time just to freshen up the rotation.
Has anyone heard this?
thanks for sharing Bwos. I had never heard it, nor of him or his music. The samples are interesting - I just ordered a copy.
What is your source for discovering new music?
Mainly Amazon.com recommendations for me. But I will pick up things on a whim in the used record store (like Elizabeth) too.
Best LP since Waters left Pink Floyd?
I think The Division Bell sounds more like Pink Floyd than anything Waters has done on his own. I agree. "Momentary Lapse" too. I like Waters' solo stuff a lot but don't think it's at all like Pink Floyd. When I bought Division Bell in the early '...
Best LP since Waters left Pink Floyd?
I've always been partial to the two Pink Floyd albums - "Division Bell" and "Momentary Lapse . . .". Hard to chose which I like better, but I like both better than the latter PF w/RW albums (eg "The Final Cut")
