I love my Pink Triangle (original) released in '82 - it's amazing. I have 2 of them, I also have a PT Anniversary ('92) that may not qualify for this conversation since it's a 90's product, but it can't be beat.
Bert Jansch dies
that's so sad . . . a great loss. One of my favorite musicians
Musical Fidelity A3cr Pre compared to Tubes
I have a MF Nuvista preamp which came out just before the A3CR. As I understand it the circuits are similar, but the Nuvista was limited production (500 units) using Nuvistor "tubes", where the A3 uses SS devices.I love my Nuvista preamp and will ...

Jane Relf - the lead singer for the original incarnation of the group Renaissance, and later the group Illusion (and sister of Kieth Relf). I've mentioned her her before though and get the impression I'm the only one who is so impressed by her.Of ...
Yaqin MC10 L and Legacy Classic
it would probably work at moderate volume levels. Don't expect to crank it though. I had one and drove Totem Sttafs in a small room and it was quite nice. The Sttafs are 88db sensitive.
The Audiophile's Wife
that's fantastic - great observation, great humor, and great writing!thanks for sharing.

Cartridge installation
I agree - cartridge installation is easy. The only concern is taking care must not to break anything (eg, tags/wires, stylus). I think it's a skill all vinyl-phile should have.
Need tonearm advice for Clearaudio Innovation Wood
mine is an aluminum arm model - it was the stock arm that comes with the Marantz table - which has an improved interconnect cable (I believe) compared to the entry model. I'm using a Benz Glider on mine mounted on a Pink Triangle table - it's wond...

I have a Satisfy and it's one of my favorite arms.
Bi-amping for HT
you got it, except unless you have a subwoofer connect to the SP12, it will be 2.0
Bi-amping for HT
let me get this straight Byfo . . . you want him to buy a $900 switch so he can connect his $300 receiver and his $470 preamp to one amp, when both of them already have the capability to do this without an external switch?
Bi-amping for HT
that's right. Think of the preamp as simply being a passive connector between your HT receiver and your power amp when you're using it for HT. This way the volume control is fixed on the SP12, and the volume for all HT channels are controlled by t...
Bi-amping for HT
If I get a new Pre w/remote that still won't allow for 4 channels, correct? Wrong - you need to focus on what's going on in the scheme I described. for music - it's 2 channel, for HT it's 5.1, or 7.1, or whatever you configure. Furthermore, in H...
